Spot Collector Question
开云体育I have Origin set for NA-E and NA-W, but I am still receiving a lot of spots originating from EU and SA.? It is because somebody in NA-E or NA-W spotted them earlier I am assuming.? I sometimes don’t hear the station that has been spotted at all, so I was wondering how long does the NAE and NAW “Y” stay there before it is no longer considered viable? ? 73, Bob KB4CL |
开云体育The reason you don't hear a spotted station may have to do with propagation or may also be due to you just getting there too late. Sometimes a station calls CQ once or twice and is spotted but by the time you get there he is gone. They may also give up or change frequency because they become frustrated with all the lids and cops on their frequency. It happens and has noting to do with how long NA-E or NA-W is viable. This is an optional parameter that you can set but I believe the default is 60 minutes which IMHO is quite reasonable.73, Rich - W3ZJ On 2/25/2016 10:29 AM, 'Bob Main'

开云体育If you want to test your hypothesis, right click on one of the spots you think should not show and choose "Display spots of (call) near (freq) in (mode)" and the popup will show all of the spots.? The LastOrigin shows where the last spot originated, the popup will show all origins. On 2/25/2016 09:57, Rich - W3ZJ

Yeah I figured all the reasons you listed, but thought I would ask. Thanks Rich.
