- corrects the regression introduced in version 1.2.9, in which rotor control enable is not saved between DXView sessions - hides the rotor's Serial Port Interface panel if you select an ARSWIN controller (thanks, Pablo!) If you've already installed DXView, you can upgrade by downloading - store it in your DXView folder and execute it; you can then run the extracted DXView130.exe . Your online help will be updated by this process. 73, Dave, AA6YQ -----Original Message-----

Extending Commander to support Yaesu and Kenwood radios is on th list, but behind the Telnet/IRC Cluster interface, KAM support, and some things DXKeeper needs to support multiple-QTH operation. 73, Dave, AA6YQ -----Original Message-----

corrupt or un-bootable system! <<<Warning The following sequence will remove all registry entries for DXView. When you run DXView afterwards, it will act as it did immediately after installation, e.g. prompt you for a callsign. 1. Click the Windows Start button 2. Click "Run..." 3. Enter regedit in the Open: text box, and click OK 4. In the Registry Editor, expand (meaning "click on the + sign to the left of its folder icon") the HKEY_CURRENT_USER entry 5. Expand the Software entry 6. Expand the VB and VBA Program Settings entry 7. Click DXView - it should become highlighted, and the folder icon should change from closed to open 8. Right-click DXView, and choose Delete in the pop-up menu 9. Close the Registry Editor If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to ask. I'm not sure what's happened exactly, but the program failure is definitely the result of some latent defect. Since I'm unlikely to replicate it here, tracking it down would require me to add some instrumentation to a version, have you run it and report results. That would narrow things down a bit, enabling me to add some more instrumentation for you to try. I'm guessing it would take 3 or 4 cycles to find the problem. The faster way to get you running again is probably to zap DXView's registry entries. I suspect that once of these has taken on an unexpected value, and that's what's activating the defect. Uninstalling and reinstalling DXView does not clear its registry entries -- either you must run the program REGEDIT and delete the entry manually, or I must write a little program that does that for you. If you've used REGEDIT before, I'll tell you what entry to delete. Otherwise, I'll write the program and send it to you tomorrow. Let me know... 73, Dave, AA6YQ -----Original Message-----

The problem is not in the program. I originally had the DXView version just before your latest release of DXView 1.28 working with Rotor EZ on 98SE. I loved it. It was so neat to key in a call and click the path and not have to worry about what the rotor was doing. This a great program! I had no trouble with it in this configuration. However, I have two computers serving three operating positions. I got so spoiled by DXView that I wanted to network it to the other CPU so I could use it at all three positions. So I bought two 3com network cards and used windows networking to link the two CPU's. That's when I found out I could not access the serial port of the main CPU from the other networked CPU. I then deleted the network connection to DXView from the secondary CPU and that's when the problem began. I decided that the networking had caused a problem with DXView and uninstalled and re-installed to see if it would go away, but it has not. Since I removed the network connection, DXView will not start and I get the error message whenever I try to run it. Yesterday I downloaded the new version and installed it, hoping that it would cure the problem but it did not. The problem is mine but I don't know enough about the error code to know where to look for the solution. I thought that running the uninstall would clear out whatever I did and I could re-install and everything would be ok. But the error is still there. Any thoughts you might have that I could try would be greatly appreciated. I really miss using the program. Assuming that Dave has maintained the same functionality with the Arswin rotor as he has with the Yaesu, you should be able to fix that by defining an appropriate "Rotor offset" in the config window. If you are asking for 35 and getting 129, it sounds like you need an offset of -94. Mine is set to -166 because the North American version of the Yaesu rotor uses 0 to mean 180 degrees and I had a 14 degree error in the way my beam is positioned on the mast. Appropriately defining the offset puts it right on the mark. ---- 73, Rich - W3ZJ -----Original Message----- |

-I have it works Dave there is one smal problem but i think thats a
calibration problem if i ask JA6 that is 35 degrees he going to 129 so that is it with LOGGER no problem then he is o.k. perhaps i must do calibration but then i must when i change to logger from DXView. must see what i can do. Ron |
