DXKeeper 1.2.3 is available
Dave, AA6YQ
This release
- properly saves the state of "Show Control Explanations" between sessions - includes instrumentation to detect the "persistent hourglass" defect (please be on the lookout for an error log) - automatically restarts the inter-application communication link with DXView, should it terminate - adds the option of specifying a UTC filter based on start date and end date (settings can be adjusted by depressing the control key while clicking the UTC filter button) If you've already installed DXKeeper 1.1.1 or later, you can upgrade to version 1.2.3 by downloading and then running ; your online help will be updated by this process. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
Re: Icom RS232 interface from KG7SG

No problem, Tom. Lets pick a time this weekend to get together in
real time via HF or landline and we'll walk through the interface with your meter. Please send me a private email suggesting times that work for you. By the way, how are you powering your interface? If its via the RS232 port's modem control signals, you might start by verifying that the interface has power. 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@y..., "Tom Brouard" <stagehand@h...> wrote: Hi Dave, from your software projects but you are the only one that I know thatunderstands the interface.tried the message window as well with no results either. Thanks again for your help. I realize that this is sidetracking you from your software projects but you are the only one that I know that understands the interface. I have done all that you suggested already with no results. I have tried the message window as well with no results either. The Radix is at hexadecimal. Receive message box is checked as well. I do not have a scope but I do have a meter. Thank you 73 de KB2VNB -----Original Message-----

Re: DXView
Dave Bernstein
Certainly. But I'd like to track down and correct the DXView-PropView-
DXKeeper interaction problem, as well as the DXKeeper "misbehaviour" issue first. Unfortunately, I have an XYL-driven furniture repair project that takes precedence over both of these, but it shouldn't involve more than a few hours work. If the above defects were showstoppers, I might apply for a variance, but... 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@y..., "Ron Eberson" <zx@c...> wrote: DXView? this button can copy the call to DXKeeper and so you can use itdirect now i must type the call again in DXKeeper also i can use Propview direct. |

This does not correct the problem where the connection between DXKeeper and DXView is not established when you start DXView after both DXKeeper and PropView are already running. I also have problems at other times where the communication between the various applications seems to break down but I haven't yet been able to identify a consistent sequence of operations that cause that. However, this one with DXKeeper and PropView followed by DXView is very consistent. ---- 73, Rich - W3ZJ -----Original Message----- |

FW: PropView 1.0.5 is available
Dave, AA6YQ
This release corrects the defect responsible for generating a runtime error
if DXView is not installed. You can upgrade to PropView 1.0.5 by downloading and running www.qsl.net/propview/PropView105Update.exe -- it will install PropView105.exe , which you can then run. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Re: DXKeeper 122
A little more info on this one. If the original callsign is in the

log, there is no problem. It's only when the callsign is not there and the log display screen is empty after pressing enter. In this case you actually don't even have to change the callsign in the capture window, just press enter a second time and it's in trouble. 73, Rich - W3ZJ -----Original Message----- |
Re: DXView 1.2.8
OK, a little more info on this one. It works OK as long as

Re: DXKeeper 122
Yup, every time. I tried shutting down all other applications to

see if that had any affect - it didn't. 1) Type W7JJ into the capture window (a fictitious call sign, not in log) and press enter. 2) Correct the callsign to W7JJK, press enter again. 3 Click "log". Nothing happens, moving the cursor to the DXKeeper window displays a permanent hour glass cursor. 4) Shut down DXKeeper and restart, the QSO is not logged. ----- 73, Rich - W3ZJ -----Original Message----- |

From: Richard B Drake [mailto:rich@...] Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2001 14:51 PM To: Dxlab Subject: [dxlab] DXKeeper 122 Dave, I have occasionally experienced a problem with DXKeeper hanging up on me, it seems to get stuck in an infinite loop. It took me a while to figure out how to reproduce it, but here it is. If I enter a call in the capture window and press enter to do the look up, then later without clearing the capture window I go back and make a correction to the callsign and press enter again, everything seems fine but when I go to log that QSO, DXKeeper is hung up. ----- 73, Rich - W3ZJ www.w3zj.com Yahoo! I just tried this several times without failure. I did "improve" the code in
