This release

- properly saves the state of "Show Control
Explanations" between
sessions

- includes instrumentation to detect the
"persistent hourglass" defect
(please be on the lookout for an error log)

- automatically restarts the inter-application
communication link with
DXView, should it terminate

- adds the option of specifying a UTC filter based
on start date and end
date (settings can be adjusted by depressing the
control key while clicking
the UTC filter button)

If you've already installed DXKeeper 1.1.1 or later,
you can upgrade to
version 1.2.3 by downloading and then running
;
your online help will be
updated by this process.

Re: Icom RS232 interface from KG7SG

No problem, Tom. Lets pick a time this weekend to get together in
real time via HF or landline and we'll walk through the interface
with your meter. Please send me a private email suggesting times that
work for you.

By the way, how are you powering your interface? If its via the RS232
port's modem control signals, you might start by verifying that the
interface has power.

Tom,

The radio sends data

- if its "CI-V Transceive" setting is on, and you change
frequency or
change modes

- in response to a query from Commander

If you didn't set "CI-V Transceive" to "on" (using the 746 menu, as
described in the manual), then you must configure CI-V Commander to
continuously query the radio by checking the "Continuous Frequency
and Mode
Interrogation" box in Commander's General configuration tab

Alternatively, you can set "CI-V Transceive" to "on", in which case
continuous queries are unnecessary

If neither of the above configurations results in Commander
displaying your
radio's frequency and mode, let me know and we'll take the next
step - which
is to check the message window.

Just in case: do you have a scope or meter?

I am running CI-V Commander version 1.2.2 using the KG7SG
interface I just
made. I am able to control the ICOM 746 via the computer but I
am not
able
to receive any data from the radio.

I have double checked all wiring and software and radio config
settings
with
no luck.

I am still suspicious that it is in the wiring but I am hoping
that it is
something simple in the software or at the radio that I may have
overlooked.

Suggestions from any is gratefully welcomed

Thank you

Re: FW: PropView 1.0.5 is available

Dave,

This does not correct the problem where the connection between
DXKeeper and DXView is not established when you start DXView after
both DXKeeper and PropView are already running.

I also have problems at other times where the communication
between the various applications seems to break down but I haven't
yet been able to identify a consistent sequence of operations that
cause that. However, this one with DXKeeper and PropView followed
by DXView is very consistent.

This release corrects the defect responsible for
generating a runtime error
if DXView is not installed.

You can upgrade to PropView 1.0.5 by downloading and running
www.qsl.net/propview/PropView105Update.exe -- it will install
PropView105.exe , which
you can then run.

Re: DXKeeper 122

A little more info on this one. If the original callsign is in the
log, there is no problem. It's only when the callsign is not there
and the log display screen is empty after pressing enter. In this
case you actually don't even have to change the callsign in the
capture window, just press enter a second time and it's in
trouble.

Yup, every time. I tried shutting down all other applications to
see if that had any affect - it didn't.

1) Type W7JJ into the capture window (a fictitious call
sign, not
in log) and press enter.

2) Correct the callsign to W7JJK, press enter again.

3 Click "log". Nothing happens, moving the cursor to
the DXKeeper
window displays a permanent hour glass cursor.

4) Shut down DXKeeper and restart, the QSO is not logged.

It took me a
