Autoscroll not automatically re-starting
Following a successful migration to a new Win11 machine, my only issue is that I cannot get Autoscroll to enable automatically.
The appropriate tick box is enabled. I have tried rebuilding and deleting the spots database. Autoscroll does change red/blue as expected but will not disable automatically; what next should I check?

Many thanks.

Re: Commander Bandspread Band Change Buttons Don't set the Band Stack
+ AA6YQ comments belo-w
+ In the original Band Stack implementation, any frequency change that occurs after the specified dwell time is satisfied would result in the current frequency being pushed onto the current band's stack before changing frequency. + Many years ago, it was suggested that changing frequency by clicking one of the Bandspread tab's Band buttons (or the Spectrum-Waterfall window's Band buttons) should not push the current frequency onto the current band's stack before changing frequency to the most recent frequency on the newly-selected band. I don't recall the discussion that led to this decision, but I was persuaded at the time. + As Don points out, this means that if you've been on 20m frequency X for longer than the dwell time and click the Bandspread window's 40m band button, when you subsequently click its 20m band button, you will not return to 20m frequency X; you will return to the 20m frequency you were using before you QSY'd to X. + I'm not comfortable with unilaterally reversing a change made long ago after discussion here, so I suggest to Don that he post a description of the situation here. ? ? ? 73, ? ? ? ? ? ? Commander Bandspread Band Change Buttons Don't set the Band Stack
I recently simplified my desktop removing NaP3 and reverting back to primarily DXL applications.? I had been using the band change buttons on NaP3 versus the band change stepping function on the front of the K3s.? ? I began using the band change buttons located on the bottom of the Commander Bandspread window.? ?
?
I noted an odd behavior.? ?When using the band change buttons on Commander Bandspread, when you tune to a frequency then change bands, when you return to the original band, the radio reverts to a different frequency that where it was when it left that band.? ?I found that annoying, as I often listen to a particular frequency on a band, change bands to see if I can hear a station spotted on RBN, only to return to the original band/frequency to continue what I was doing.? ?
?
I inquired of Dave about the process and was advised that Commander Bandspread will not set the band stack if there is a band change after establishing a frequency on the first band.? ?The program was, in fact, designed to do just that.? ?I found that an odd behavior.? ? Why would any operator not want to return to the same frequency on any particular band when they returned to that band from someplace else.
?
Lacking alternative, I set up band change buttons in the Commander User Defined Commands using the BN function from Elecraft Programmers Guide.? ?They work perfectly, setting the bandstack when the defined dwell time has expired.? ?The band change buttons consume a lot of User Defined button real estate, but work well.

Re: Strange error when setting up new "MyQTH"
+ AA6YQ comments below
+ Thanks, Ken. Unfortunately, I cannot replicate that failure here. So that I can see what's going on, please do the following: 1. on the General tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box 2. terminate DXKeeper ?
3. start DXKeeper
4. replicate the failure, using the steps you describe above 5. use the Windows Task Manager to terminate DXKeeper 6. start DXKeeper ?
7. on the General tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box
?
8. terminate and then restart DXKeeper
9. attach the errorlog.txt file from your DXKeeper folder to an email message, and send the message to me via ?

Re: Strange error when setting up new "MyQTH"
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Dave.? Following is an example of when I get this error:
? I now understand that I can save a partially completed new location and then go back to it to complete it.? So, not clicking on ¡°Save¡± or ¡°Delete¡± was my downfall.? Kind of like when you go to the doctor and tell them, ¡°It hurts when I do this¡± and they say, ¡°Don¡¯t do that!¡±.? It would be nice if there was a more ¡°elegant¡± way to get out of this mess once the error message appears other than forcing DXKeeper to terminate. ? I first ran into this when I realized I had not updated the LoTW listing for a new QTH I was putting together.? So, after going to the ¡°QSL¡± tab and clicking on the ¡°QSL Config¡± button to update the listing, I was greeted by the noted error when attempting to complete configuring the new QTH info.? I also now realize that I could have avoided this issue completely by accessing ¡°QSL Config¡± from the ¡°Config¡± button in the ¡°My QTHs¡± tab.? See, after using your software for 20 years, I¡¯m still learning, albeit slowly¡ ? Thanks, as always, Dave! ? 73, Ken, KJ9B ? + Let's back up a step. Do you mean upload 30K QSOs from your log to LoTW, or download 30K QSOs from LoTW into your log? Either way, why are you doing that? + What does "shows up only as Worked" mean? ? ? ? 73, ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Dave, AA6YQ |
Re: ¡°Add Requested¡± tab not working
+ AA6YQ comments below
Well¡.it¡¯s now working as normal. No idea what happened, but all ok. I unchecked and then rechecked the ¡°Sent to R¡± box and that fixed it¡+ With "QSL Via" set to LoTW at the top of the Main window's QSL tab, the "Add Requested" function will populate the QSL Queue with each QSO whose "LoTW QSL Sent" item is set to 'R' and whose "Station Callsign" item matches the "Station Callsign" you specified in the TQSL panel at the bottom of the "QSL Configuration" window's LoTW tab. ? ? ?73, ? ? ? ? ? ? Trouble uploading LOTW QSOs and QSLs
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI want to upload all 30K QSOs from LOTW. I go to the the Main window's?QSL?tab, click the?Sync LotW QSOs?button while depressing your keyboard's CTRL key and wait¡ and wait¡ and I go away and my screen shuts off. Then hours later I get a message that the download is aborted. Is this simply because it¡¯s taking too long; should I prevent computer from going to sleep? I am trying to get DXKeeper to match with LOTW (where all my QSOs are). I was going to Sync QSOs first THEN QSLs, but I get the Abort each time. Takes HOURS. ? I also can not get DXKeeper to accept my QSL from Kure Island. Even when I type it in as if QSO is NOW and click the QSL as SENT and VERIFIED it shows up as only WORKED in DXKeeper!? ? Re: VK9XU
Patience is a virtue! I decided to wait and see.
I put the station on WSJTx SH and left it there , waiting.
Last evening around 0030z he was spotted by a US station so I got ready.
I could not see the slightest trace from him but immediately he called CQ.
He responded after 2 calls! #313 on 10m.
It pays to be prepared.

Strange error when setting up new "MyQTH"
Having become seriously addicted to POTA operations, I set up new LoTW
station locations for each park I activate as well as new "MyQTH" locations, in order to have correct grid square and county info, primarily. I noticed this issue a couple of years ago, but didn't take the time to report it until now. If, when setting up a new "MyQTH" location, I have to exit the new QTH prior to completing the set up, I get the following error message: "Object doesn't support this property or method". When this error occurs, the only way to get out of it is to "force" DXKeeper to close via Task Manager. Also, when this happens, I find that the partially completed QTH location is indeed saved. I don't know if anyone else has run across this, but if there is any way to more "gracefully" exit a failed "MyQTH" set up attempt, it would probably be good. 73, Ken, KJ9B |
