Re: Strange error when setting up new "MyQTH"

Hi Dave.? Following is an example of when I get this error:

  1. From within the “My QTHs” tab, click on “New” to create a new location.
  2. Prior to clicking “Save” or “Delete”, click on any other tab in DXKeeper, e.g., “QSL”.
  3. When attempting to go back to the unfinished new location in the “My QTHs” tab, the noted error message appears and will not go away without forcing DXKeeper to terminate using Task Manager.

?

I now understand that I can save a partially completed new location and then go back to it to complete it.? So, not clicking on “Save” or “Delete” was my downfall.? Kind of like when you go to the doctor and tell them, “It hurts when I do this” and they say, “Don’t do that!”.? It would be nice if there was a more “elegant” way to get out of this mess once the error message appears other than forcing DXKeeper to terminate.

?

I first ran into this when I realized I had not updated the LoTW listing for a new QTH I was putting together.? So, after going to the “QSL” tab and clicking on the “QSL Config” button to update the listing, I was greeted by the noted error when attempting to complete configuring the new QTH info.? I also now realize that I could have avoided this issue completely by accessing “QSL Config” from the “Config” button in the “My QTHs” tab.? See, after using your software for 20 years, I’m still learning, albeit slowly…

?

Thanks, as always, Dave!

Having become seriously addicted to POTA operations, I set up new LoTW
station locations for each park I activate as well as new "MyQTH" locations,
in order to have correct grid square and county info, primarily. I noticed
this issue a couple of years ago, but didn't take the time to report it
until now. If, when setting up a new "MyQTH" location, I have to exit the
new QTH prior to completing the set up, I get the following error message:
"Object doesn't support this property or method". When this error occurs,
the only way to get out of it is to "force" DXKeeper to close via Task
Manager. Also, when this happens, I find that the partially completed QTH
location is indeed saved.

+ Ken, please describe your actions - step by step - that lead to the error message. Thanks!
