Re: issue with log

Yep, I know.? I'm a systems analyst.? I just need to smarten up and do backups more often.? The plan is to replace the computer when we get moved into our new house but for now it's the best I can do.? I'll start doing a backup everyday just in case.?

Thanks Dave,

I'll look into it.? I keep the log file on a Raid 5 NAS drive because I know the little computer at my rig is an old piece of garbage.? It's done spontaneous reboots once in a while since I got it several years ago.? All I do with it is DXLab and WSJTX.? No other software is installed on it and other than spot collector, doesn't use the internet for anything.

Normally if it reboots and holds the lock file open I just make a copy of the log in a different directory and it will open fine.? This is the first time that I had this issue with it.? I'll do a full recompute on it as well as run some reports to see if my #'s on things like DXCC are right.? And tonight I'll run a disc check to see if the HD is packing it in.

This message thread seems along the same line as what I need from DXKeeper.
?
I am working on a new contesting project that needs to interactively get logging activity during a contest. This is easy with N1MM, HRD, and N3FJP because they all broadcast an UDP packet when the user makes a log entry. I would like to do the same with DXKeeper and listen for log entries, but I cannot find in the documentation how to do this. Can someone please tell me the best way to do this with DXKeeper? Does it broadcast on log event?
+ On logging a new QSO, DXKeeper does not send an outgoing message in any protocol.

+ Serious contesters are not encouraged to use DXKeeper during contests, as it provides none of the realtime analytics that such contesters would expect, e.g. score and rate. DXKeeper's support for contesting is focused on DXers participating in contests to seek QSOs that would advance their DXing objectives.

Re: Using Dxlab to submit more DXCC entities to total

+ AA6YQ comments below

Hi Dave....I used the link you provided and checked the process for verifying the original submission I made
4 years ago. I had done this entirely through LOTW submissions and I followed the instructions on page 5 of your doc Where I was in
the Check progress tab and submission tab, checked the LOTW contribution box, hit the verify submission button And nothing happened
that I saw.

+ Clicking the "Verify Submission" button is only effective if you had assembled a Submission - a set of QSOs whose "QSL Rcvd" or
"LoTW QSL Rcvd" items were set to 'S'. If there no QSOs in your log whose "LoTW QSL Rcvd" items are set to 'V', then there weren't
any QSOs whose "LoTW QSL Rcvd" items were set to 'S' when you click the "Verify Submission" button.

When I check the DXCC progress report, first section verified Honor roll countries shows 5 mixed.
Next section Confirmed DXCC countries shows 265 mixed (whats the difference
here?)

+ "Honor Roll Countries" do not include now-deleted DXCC entities, whereas "DXCC Countries" do include them.

How do I find out what I got credit for 4 years ago from ARRL??

+ By directing DXKeeper to download your DXCC award credits from the ARRL and link them to your logged QSOs, as explained here:

Re: Using Dxlab to submit more DXCC entities to total

Ted,

1) It sounds like you did not use DXKeeper to prepare the original
submission. Is that correct?

2) How many QSOs are in your log?

3) Were all of the countries/QSOs submitted based on LotW confirmations?

4) Are any of your QSOs marked "LotW_RCVD = 'S'"?

We are starting with Commander and we have an issue that I will try to explain.? I have configured the General Tab within Commander Configuration with the IP Address of my home computer, and listed the IP Port as 4992.? The Radio setting is SDR-6500 and the Command interval at 200ms with Span Dwell of 10.? I did type in the serial number of the remote 6500 but understand that is not needed.??
When I hit "Reset", the VFO B comes up with a frequency of 14257.20 and the VFO A reads the remote radio.? The problem is it does not appear to be "synced" with the SDR software as when I change the frequency on the radio from my SDR software on the home computer, it does not move the frequency in VFOA.? If I hit reset, it does change the frequency.? It is if it is not updating.? I know this is not right but I have exhausted what other changes I need to make.??
We are slowly working to get DX Labs work so when we work a station, it will automatically log into Keeper.---but got to get past this hurdle first.
Any ideas?
+ My 6500 is directly connected to my PC via an ethernet LAN; Commander controls it correctly. Based on feedback here, everyone else with a Flex Signature directly connected to their PC has the same experience.

+ I am not familiar with SmartLink; there is no support for it in Commander - if specific support is actually required. Perhaps someone here with SmartLink experience can help you; if not, try Eric KE5DTO at FlexRadio.
