True that, but the ALC overshoot can happen from severe overdrive on the low bands.

Interesting. That should not happen with normal audio but a strong enough spike can overshoot the ALC and cause the PS7 to shut off. I have seen this happen on 40m when I forget to turn the gain down after working the higher bands.
