Re: TR-3 No Transmit
Sorry to interrupt but I have a TR-3 that is doing the exact same thing. I've checked all the tubes, cleaned all the sockets, controls, and the power plug, rebuilt the AC-4 power supply and it is

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Its interesting how long the D-104 was popular. They were the first crystal microphone on the market, 1933 (I think). Astatic licensed the patents of Brush Development Co. They originally made a flat

Re: TR-4CW and TR7 Outcomes?
Gary I have not had time to work on the TR7 CW issue, But I think I have it isolated the problem to the switch transistor Q1103 as with the base having 9.4 VDC on receive it still conducts some so

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Have now switched to another old standby a D104 without amp and it sounds great on the air.? I record from an SDR site and then listen. Very few winks of the ALC and getting a very good output from
TR-4CW and TR7 Outcomes?
What ever became of the TR7 with issues on the IF/Audio board causing it to be stuck in transmit? Also, wha became of the TR-4CW that had the problem with momentarily going into CW transmit than

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
True that, but the ALC overshoot can happen from severe overdrive on the low bands. "Richard Knoppow via groups.io" <1oldlens1@...> wrote: -- 73 -Jim NU0C

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Don't discount the possibility of RF feedback. Can happen with any mic if the grounding/shielding is not correct. If the mic has an internal amplifier it can be worse. RF feedback can be very

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Interesting. That should not happen with normal audio but a strong enough spike can overshoot the ALC and cause the PS7 to shut off. I have seen this happen on 40m when I forget to turn the gain down

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Not sure if this has anything to do with what you guys are discussing.? I use a Heil pro set (ps-6) boom mic headset with my SP75 . I've installed a Heil xt-1 microphone audio transformer in a switch

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
The audio when I was using the Heil Goldline would cause the PS7 to trip, so I thought it was possible overdriving the transmitter. Of course the Amp was online but without the TR7 the amp didn't

Re: SP75 with Heil mic
Well, you mentioned the amplifier so that implied RFI. Otherwise the amplifier is irrelevant to the operation of the SP75. What exactly is happening to your audio? "K6OXN Bob via groups.io"

Mark: I have had my snap ring pliers set a long time, and it had a small diameter set that fits that snap ring. I may be home again this weekend and can measure mine. 73 Peter VE7PS
