My technique is slightly different. ?I use DeOxit products on the switch contacts themselves but use a sparing amount of silicon based lubricant (-40 deg to 300 deg F) on the switch shaft contact points, springs, bushings, etc. but not the switch contacts. ?I might be doing the wrong things but they've done a good job on Drake gear I've had for over 30 years. ?Please send flames direct rather than via the reflector.

If there are ink stamps on the chassis, you might need to be careful - alcohol can dissolve ink. If you purge wafer switches, you should re-lubricate them. DeOxit D100 excels at this.
