cannot remove pins from a Cinch Jones
connector, unless you destroy the plug. What he
really meant to say, is how do you remove the retaining pin that
holds the hood onto the
back of the connector.

Not cheap but they won't break. A local handed be two different flavors of these one day without comment. I looked at them for a moment and the light bulb went on. "I know what these are!" I thanked him profusely. Subsequent internet searches revealed the source (and value).
