Re: Is there a source for the Sherwood R4C mods #FS-4A

Hi Gary,
I have been reading through the info I found in the Files section. It was helpful but also a bit confusing.? Although I would probably purchase the Sherwood mods if still available, I am willing and able to build my own. I a retired RF engr and very comfortable with RF/analog design and dead bugging prototypes. However, I haven't found any of what I believe to be Rob's designs. Many designs by several hams, but the big problem is that most are 20-30 yrs old and are based around parts that are no longer available. i am also wondering why Rob redesigned the entire power supply board when it appears that all that was needed was the change over to a IC regulator for the +12 line.
I didn't see the product detector board you mentioned. Do you still have a copy of the schematic handy or can you tell me the title of the file?
I saw that a company named Hayseed sells custom electrolytic caps for the R4C. Is that the best way to go?
Finally, are there any companies still around that will sell crystals for the R4C??
Thanks for responding to my questions.
