Fw: [DVDongle] DVTool 2.1 for DV3K Dongle available

From:"aa4rc@... [DVDongle]"
Date:Sat, May 23, 2015 at 1:48 PM
Subject:[DVDongle] DVTool 2.1 for DV3K Dongle available

?

DVTool version 2.1 is now available for the DV3K Dongle. ?You can go to ?and click on the Installation tab for instructions for downloading/installing for Windows or Mac. ?The Linux version should follow shortly.

This version will also work with the DV Dongle. ?The only changes between 2.0 and 2.1 are for DV3K Dongle support so upgrading is not necessary for DV Dongle users.

The reflectors are running new code that supports the new DV3K Dongle. ?Dplus with DV3K support for the gateways should be released this weekend and it will then be up to the gateway admins to install the new version which is required for DV3K support.

From:"aa4rc@... [DVDongle]" Date:Thu, May 21, 2015 at 9:50 AM
Subject:[DVDongle] Welcome Dayton DV3K Dongle owners!

?

We announced the new DV3K Dongle at the D-STAR forum at Dayton on Friday. ?The software wasn't quite ready to go yet but several folks wanted to take the new hardware back with them oversees so we let HRO start selling on Saturday. ?We are still working out the remaining issues with the new DVTool 2.1 which should be released in the next day or two. ?In the mean time, you can download the latest version of WinDV and select "Thumb DV" as the device since the new DV3K Dongle is similar in architecture.

I'll announce the availability of 2.1 here shortly.

Take a look at the new device at

Thanks!

Dayton’s Friday Evening D-STAR at the Drury Inn

Friday evening’s D-STAR at the Drury Inn event will follow the Dayton Hamvention’s theme of “Homebrew Radio” and talk about Homebrew D-STAR.

Homebrew has been a big part of D-STAR since the very beginning.
It’s been homebrew that’s driven D-STAR to where it is today.

Here’s some topics we expect to cover.

· D-STAR Today - Statistics
· P-25 from Icom

· Learning how to use your new radio the easy way

· Updating your radio

· The options currently available with homebrew

· Samples of homebrew

· Homebrew by the developers

· Your Homebrew

Yes, the last subject is Your Homebrew. We want to see your homebrew. If you are going to be joining us Friday evening, please bring it along with you.
If you aren’t going to be joining us, please send us a description and picture. We want everyone to see the options available.

Here’s what we need from you!For those sending in your homebrew pictures, as well as those bringing their homebrew, here’s what we’d like to see

? A picture of your homebrew solution

? A short description of what it is

? A list of the parts and pieces

? If you have links to any additional information or where the parts may be obtained.

If you can send us the information as s single PowerPoint page, that would be great!
Try not to get the font too small. People in the back of the room won’t be able to appreciate your masterpiece.
Please send your submissions to Pictures@...<mailto:Pictures@...>

Re: Digital Data setup problem

First, have you tried connecting your computer directly to the ID-1 and setting up all the information manually?

Has anyone confirmed that the repeater’s DD mode is working correctly?

How close are you to the repeater? Can you see it?

Good Morning! I have been trying to setup my ID1 with a MikroTik RB 750 router, with some limited success. I am using a win?7 machine, the router is plugged in to the only ethernet port on the machine, according to device manager the drivers are installed and the router is listed as a network adapter.

?

If I rotate the VFO I can see the router port 1 indicator light go off and on so it is seeing the radio, if I close the connection in network and sharing, the port 2 indicator light for the connection goes out, so it is seeing the computer. I have tried using my DSTAR IP address and the correct subnet and dns information. The DHCP shows to be correct and is enabled. I am unable to access the radio with DRATS or to get out to the web. The router is not wifi capable so that is not an option, the cables are as short as possible (direct to the radio) and a new 3 ft cat 6.

?

Any ideas or thoughts would be of great help as I have tried all I know at this point.

Thanks in Advance

Re: Home made Duplexers

I thought I would add that I am still working on this 1.2 GHz duplexer project.
I removed the original plungers and cut 1/2" off of the outer shell, then sawed the slots down another 1/2".
The cans now tune up past 1.3 GHz.

Now I am trying to work out the correct coax lengths to align the notches and get the insertion loss down.
I am using coax during the trial and error part (mostly error) but will replace with 1/4" hardline when I have the electrical lengths resolved.
