________________________________________________________________________ 1. Connect with the National Scout Jamboree via Amateur Radio ? ? Posted by: "ki4ozg" trace12002@... ki4ozg ? ? Date: Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:52 am ((PDT)) The Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree started yesterday, July 26 and runs through August 4 at Fort AP Hill, Caroline County, Virginia. They are operating amateur radio station K2BSA and in addition to various HF frequencies and EchoLink they will also be on the air via D-STAR from the Jamboree site and will be using the WS4VA 2 meter repeater (145.320 MHz, -600 kHz split) which will be linked Reflector 030B. I was able to check in with them yesterday and I'm sure they'd love to hear from any and all D-STAR users. If you have the time, please check in with them and help further promote D-STAR, ham radio, and scouting. You just may help a few scouts earn a Radio Merit Badge.? |

D-STAR ID-1s and Repeaters Available - New or Almost New
Hi,
Please distribute to other clubs/email lists you might control. Thanks and regards, Paul N3UD Hi, ------------------ D-STAR ID-1 Radios: I have a few 'virtually new' ICOM D-Star ID-1 radios available. Some of you may have seen me conduct D-Star demonstrations at local ham club meetings with these. A few hours use for the demos is only use they have seen. Other than changing to Anderson Powerpole connectors, they are 'like-new'. Will sell 3 of the 5 I have, keeping 2 still for the wife(W3GZZ) and myself. Asking $850 each, plus shipping if needed. ------------------ D-STAR REPEATER SYSTEMS: I also have 2 DD repeaters, 1 FM repeater, 2 repeater controllers, excellent duplexer, routers, some cables, various omni and beam antennas. All for 1.2 Ghz and all UNUSED, NEVER POWERED UP, for sale. Even a couple new desktop PC's suitable for repeater gateways and of course the ICOM G2 gateway software. Virtually everything needed for a club to get onto D-Star in a big way. Price TBD but let's chat and see what you/your club needs and do a deal. They are sitting snug in my living room in a nice 19-in rack case on wheels. Shame to have such nice equipment idle. Regards, Paul N3UD Email pault@... ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýRun XP as a virtual OS under Win 7 (downloads from Microsoft)Run XP on virtual machine under Linux (harder, need genuine XP discs, not sure if you can set it up with free VMware player) Run XP on old laptop to support ID1 ( cheap solution, laptop does not need to be powerhouse machine) None may be the solution you want but all are available today for low cost (some cases free). ID-1 with Win 7 64 bit
Mack WB4MAK
I've read all the previous posts but it's not clear to me if anyone has successfully gotten the ID-1 driver to install with Windows 7 64 bit.
If you have actually done this, and not theoretically, will you please describe your exact steps and send me the driver files if necessary. I've tried fiddling with the latest FTDI driver files and editing the the ID-1 installer file without success. Thank you in advance. 73, Mack de WB4MAK |

PS. There was also some news announced about the D-Star ICC. Here are some pictures from the presentations and of some of the homebrew D-Star hardware:

did you not spot the full G2 connected repeater stack at the side of the Icom booth? (DB0COM) It's been operational for the last few years at FDH. There were a lot of IC-92 radios and many GPS mics too.
Upstairs there were some very well attended D-Star presentations (in German) but the X-Reflector guys were conspicuous by their absence, despite being invited by the organisers. Here are some project notes:
There were also some?very recent?technical slides (protocol and codec specific) that do not seem to have been published yet but hopefully they will follow in time.
On the Friday night there was a D-Star meal/gathering at a local hotel, with attendees from Austria, Germany, Finland, France and the UK. D-Star admins from Greece and a number of other European countries were in the booths in the A1 hall but you had to know where to find them - HI HI.
