Yaesu FT-4Xr
I bought a Yaesu FT-4Xr last month, but ran into errors reading from and writing to it with chirp.? I can read and write with the Yaesu software, but it's pretty bare bones (and I'm running it on VirtualBox/Windows, so it is incredibly slow).
Are folks able to program this radio with chirp (preferably on Linux, but Windows works too)?? If yes, is there some particular build needed, or some setting that isn't obvious?? I've used chirp on several different radios over the years and this is the first time I've been unable to use it to program a radio. Thanks. Mike, KL7MJ |
Mike,
I also purchased a FT-4xr last month and encountered an issue with Chirp that gives the error "Failed to communicate with radio: Incorrect ACK on serial port.".? I tried Chirp on Win10, Linux, and MacOS with the same error occurring on all OS's.? I'm using the Yaesu SCU-59 programming cable with my FT-4xr.? I found an outstanding Bug #10198 listed on the Chirp issues page that relates to this error.? Until the bug is fixed it looks like we are stuck with the Yaesu programming software unless someone else knows of a work around. 73, Neal WD4LSS |
Neal, Thanks, and you described the issue much better than I did!? The FT4XR is shown as supported on the chirp website, and I've found websites that talk about using chirp to program it, but nothing that says how to work around the bug.? I'm hoping that someone on this list has figured it out... 73, Mike, KL7MJ On Fri, Oct 6, 2023 at 11:55?AM Neal via <wd4lss=[email protected]> wrote: Mike, |
