Jim
Thank you, that has done the trick.? I have downloaded the repeater list into one .csv and will now create separate pages for different geographic areas I visit.

Having radio in my MGBGT during a Spanish Road trip in 1986 found us an MG mechanic on the Costa Brava when I burnt out the brake pads racing down the Pyrenees!? Having g a YL (Now XYL of 36 years) who speaks fluent Spanish did help

Cheers

Just export the UK repeater list from the RepeaterBook website to a CHIRP compatible CSV file. Then import the CSV file into a CHIRP tap that is compatible with your radio.

Re: IC-2725

That would be good to let the Repeaterbook website know about. Maybe they need
to do something to make those appear. They made some changes a few months ago. I
don't know what those changes are, but if it's supposed to list them for you
over there and it's not, and if no one reports it, it will continue that way.

The above should get you a web form to contact them.

Thank you Donald

Yes with the right lead Chirp thinks it is a 2720
Works beautifully

Only downside is I cannot seem to find UK repeater lists through Chitp, Repeaterbook is only showing me American and?Canadian lists.?

If it's a completely different radio, I wouldn't bother, but they're both VHF
and UHF radios and look very similar.

Your next best bet would be RT Systems software if they cover your radio.

My guess is that CHIRP will work using the setting for the 2720 because when I
looked at RT System's offerings, the one for the 2720 says this:

"WCS-2720 works with authentic versions of this radio worldwide including the
IC-2720A, IC-2720H and IC-2725 (European)."

Let us know how it goes.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Thank you, Donald.? Yes, the radio is in the list of radios - it just does not read it.? Strangely, If I use a similar cable that worked with my scanner, it has a light on it and when I tell Chirp to connect, and specify the radio type, the light on the cable begins to flash quickly, which might mean that communications is in progress.? Or maybe it is just transmit data expecting a response from the radio.

I really don't want to spend the money for RT System's program and cable if I can find some other way to do it.

might be your only way to program it from the computer right now.

I will say I've used both, and while I like RT Systems' programming software
better, if my radio is supported, CHIRP does the job OK. But RT isn't free.

IC-91A

Has anyone been successful in using Chirp on an Icom IC-91A?? I've tried 5 different cables, ones that are supposed to be OPC-478 compatible, and work on my myriad of HT and HF rigs.? First, Chirp is unable to automaically identify the radio and says so, eventually.? Second, when I specify IC-90, it seems to scan all of the channels, but all are blank and I know there are channels stored in the radio.? If I try to put in a frequency, it says that the radio is not responding.? All of the cables generate good COM ports.? Windows 11...

It's been available for some time now. Their website says the final version was
released Dec 3, 2008.

Python 3.01 is available now:

Re: Help: How Install CHIRP on Linux Mint 20.3 Uma?

Yes. Doing it this way gives you the ability to say that you have installed CHIRP. But, unfortunately, installing CHIRP from apt or synaptic does not install the latest CHIRP build and will be missing support for the most recent radios.

If the radios that you own are supported using this method, you are fine. But if you have CHIRP supported radios that are not supported by the CHIRP that is installed using this method, you will have to uninstall CHIRP and then install the latest flatpak (or snap or appimage) build.

Re: Help: How Install CHIRP on Linux Mint 20.3 Uma?

It's in the repository for Mint.? I just installed it on a 20.3 machine last week with

sudo apt-get install chirp

However, I notice the article link you sent was dated Nov. 13, 2020, almost two years ago. Has there been no update since then? I guess I don't know if Python 3 is out or not. 73, Richard AG5M

Did you try using the flatpack?? It may work.

The source tarball will most like not work on a modern distribution without a whole lot of work.

I give up.? Running CHIRP on Linux Mint 19.3 was easy.? But since going to Linux Mint 20 (now Mint 20.3 Uma) I find no way to install CHIRP anymore.? Is it even possible?? And if so, can someone tell me how to do it, in EXACTING detail.? I find no answers on Google that has helped.? And I'm far from being a computer programmer.? Thank you, 73 Richard AG5M
