Bob,
You may find that Eset has a way to temporarily disable the AV protection. Some
AV programs let you do that by right-clicking on the program's icon in the
Windows task tray and there is sometimes an option to disable protection or to
do so temporarily in the drop-down list when you double-click it.
You may also try right-clicking on that same icon and choosing exit or close and
see what options it gives you then.
You could also kill all of the tasks Eset has in Windows Task Manager then
proceed to install it, then re-enable the AV program.
Your Eset program should have a help menu item that you can search for how to do
this in the program.

I have an older version of CHIRP. I am trying to upgrade it to the current version.
My virus software (ESET) keeps blocking it.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?
