What does "Select band plan" (under the "Radio" menu) do?

 

Howdy everyone, just started using Chirp, latest version (20230810) under Win10 in case it makes a difference.??

As per the subject, can't see this menu option mentioned in the docs (nor anywhere else), and?selecting it and then the band plan for my region (IARU 2) apparently it changes nothing...
