Yes, Christian, this is absolutely inspiring work. Thank you for sharing it! Can't wait to set up a Hyperstar with my new C14 EdgeHD. Currently using a humble iPhone 6. Best wishes! Lee

Images of the moon taken on August 7 with the C14 (part 1)
Dear All, Please find a first set of images of the moon taken last August, 7 with the Celestron 14, Basler 1920-155 camera, Astrophysics X2 Barlow lens and a red filter. Let's start with the classics

Re: focus inside tube
Kerry, To clarify. The shipping bolts attach to the mirror holder with it all the way to the rear. This causes the the focus to be in the tube when on a sky object. With the locks removed you will

Re: focus inside tube
This has been my single biggest complaint of Celestron so far; critical items not appearing in the C14 user manual. The hex shipping screws are at the top of the list. Without first removing those

Thank you sir. You should get a job writing manuals for Celestron.

The focal plane of the scope is too close to the front of the telescope. In fact it is welll inside the telescope. No it's not an edge, it's a C14A. The two knobs are shipping screws and have to be

I hate to show my ignorance but I am not sure what you are referring to when you say "come to focus inside the tube". As far as the two knobs goes though if it is an Edge then the two knobs are mirror

What would cause a brand new C14A OTA to come to focus inside the tube? It has the edgehd back casting does that mean the extra knobs on the back are a mirror lock or shipping lock?

Re: C14 secondary mirror holder rotates
Thanks, Gary. I¡¯ll get in contact with Dean. In the mean time, I¡¯ll try what you suggested to temporarily fix it. I¡¯m very excited by the HyperStar and the possibilities I see for it. Rick

Re: C14 secondary mirror holder rotates
Rick There are gaskets/washers between the secondary mirror holder and the corrector lens. Yours are probably old and shrinking up thereby causing them to loose their grip. When your secondary mirtor

C14 secondary mirror holder rotates
My C14 is vintage 1999 or so. I¡¯m starting to use it with HyperStar now. One thing I notice is that when I¡¯m messing around removing the secondary mirror and attaching the HyperStar lens, it is

Re: C14 dust cover ( corrector end not e.p.) replacement.
I am using the cover to make an off axis 6 inch solar filter holder for my C14. I want (and have found and purchased one) the oem product because I do not want to have to worry about fit.

Re: C14 dust cover ( corrector end not e.p.) replacement.
Certainly on first impression the cover is vital and if you lose or somehow damage your OEM cover the first instinct is to replace it. My gripe with my OEM cover though is that when I stand the scope
