That's the usual rationale I hear from piggy-backers. <g>
I predict that in the not distant future, guiding will obsolete; similar to the illuminated reticle eyepieces of yesteryear. ?CCD will be virtually dead (at least for most amateurs) and very-low noise CMOS will enable sub-exps too short to guide.
