I have heard that it is possible, and there are programs out there,?to model the tracking error and reasonably track thereby. My own testing indicated the error?might be?reliably consistent, but I didn't follow through with confirming?that. I still wonder what is shifting. Something definitely is, on each of the?three brand new scopes in a row I had. Including the one I now use, and finally kept, as it was clear there isn't likely to be anything better.

?
I have been guiding a C14 EdgeHD with a 1000ml fl f10 guide scope successfully for a few years.? I use PHD and there is a learning curve but once the settings are derived, it guides well.? I changed to an OAG because my observatory dome slit made it necessary to make too many moves to the dome while tracking and I am lazy.?
