CP 4104 Fairbanks Morse "C" Liner Whereabouts
Chris Davidson
Gentlemen, it hasn't been there for a while now. I was through there a couple months back on a dealer transfer, and it wasn't there. The F7B, and the H-16-44 weren't there either. Does anyone know where they may be at?

Hello There!
First time with this group. Does anybody have any information on the whereabouts of the old CP unit 4104, a Fairbanks Morse "C" Liner passenger engine? It possibly was retired in the late 60's, perhaps in Calgary or in the Kootenays somewhere. A group of us are looking to find out if it was saved, and where. Thanks for any help, TAPMAN |

According to Diesel Era 4104 and 4105 were both retired on June 20, 1975.
Unit 4105 was scrapped at Ogden shops (Calgary). I believe that 4104 along with 4065 were preserved, I know for a fact that 4065 currently sits at the Museum of Natural Science in Ottawa at the rear of the facility. I took photos of this unit when I visited the museum late last year, it is in rough shape, the paint is badly faded and corrosion is most evident. As far as 4104 goes I here that it is in the Ogden shops and may be used for the new CP excursion passenger train through the rockies. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the case or if this unit was actually preserved? Jeff Semper Mactier Sub (Burbidge) Woodbridge, On. |

Calgary recently as reported and photographed by Luc Lanthier on his excursion West in January. Luc was kind enough to forward the shot, so if anyone wants it, let me know off list. I caught it in High River as well shortly after it was repainted, and it wears the same light grey as 1400. =============== Rainer Auer Morinville, AB =============== ----- Original Message -----

The c liner at ogden along with the H liner are privatly owned and are stored at Ogden. I spoke with a shop worker a few months ago and he told me that the owner of the 2 FM/CLC products occasionally makes use of space in the ogden shops to work on his "full scale models". He does not use CPR employees, but is his own backyard mechanic. The 2 ex BCR C Liner B units are apparenty stored somewhere in Calgary and may be cosmetically restored.
