Which direction is in front of the exhaust fan when the unit is running in a
consist in reverse? (Locos do not always run forward eh.)

Now I see that what I interpreted as a band of black paint is simply
excessive grime. Interesting to see how extensive such grime can be even on
the roof areas that are in front of the exhaust and fans.
