Congratulations to Paul Bellis for his response to this topic, and I
heartily agree with him that Mr Young's response was not only abusive, but
showed a lack of class as well.
Secondly, I believe the original topic was within the guidelines of this
list as it pertained to an article about the CPR at Kettle Valley and a
likely infringement of copyright. As a person that is thinking seriously
about writing articles for both the CPR SIG and CNR SIG magazines, I was
interested in how the copyright issue was perceived, what exactly a
copyright infringement is, and how it might affect me in writing any future
articles on the CPR or CNR.
At least it wasn't another ad nausium posting about where a particular
locomotive is / was / is going to be. There's an item that I believe is
worth deleting and I do just that without sharing my view by shoutind
DELETE!, DELETE!, DELETE!, DELETE!
Even though we share an interest in the CPR, we all have different areas of
interest, and we should at least be tolerant of those on the list, no matter
how we personally feel about them.

I was very recently at a little wreck down around here and I brought my
camera.
It was my intention to post the pictures and the details. I was in the
company of the pertinent CP official who asserted that these pictures and
details are not advisably published on the website. Under his advise, I will
not.
No less than a day later, I wished to respond to a pertinent posting on
this
list about the very nature of this medium, the freedom of information. I
will not.
I feel that the internet itself has begun to be constrained and seriously
compromised by the interference of the self righteous 'newbies' who might
dictate its use like they own it and can somehow wield influence upon me as
to how I may use it to disperse knowledge and information for its own
purpose
and not for profit.
I apoligise in advance, for thinking that this list is not only for
modelmakers, and to not intend to enflame. ( Come to think of it, I do have
an extensive 'n' scale set myself )
Personally, I feel that the subject of copyright was innocently enough
introduced, and the responses were not at all repulsive. Although not on
topic, not nearly as abusive or violative as the response from listmember
Young who shouted DELETE!, DELETE!, DELETE!, DELETE!
WHO CARES, NOT AN APPLICABLE TOPIC!

Perhaps I missed the humour sir, but I think you should apologise to those
you have attacked here.
