How many versions have you flashed while owning your sBitx? 2
I have made 7 different cards so far. This gives me the ability to go back and restore to a previous version should something go wrong. Now that we are using the 64bit dev team build I would simply install the 4.0 card you see here and immediately clone it with the copier on the sBitx and then go through the ./update path and bring it up to speed. This would preserve the version as well as save my user files.

I half-broke transmit somehow 17
Two days ago my sBitx (v3) worked fine, but today fldigi and wsjtx won't key the radio. The dit paddle on my iambic key does transmit, but the dah paddle does not. sBitx native FT8 transmits okay. I am assuming I did something stupid. Is there some setting somewhere that I unwittingly changed? (I did run 'amixer' with no arguments to look at the sound settings.) -- ww6x

Better broad-band monitoring 2
Since I got the sbitx I’ve been using FT8 and FT4 mostly, but knew I’d get bored with that as soon as I got my antennas optimized and got enough countries logged. So I got back to playing with fldigi again; and I see it has a cool feature that within its 3kHz passband, it can identify multiple types of signals via their RSIDs (Reed-Solomon ID). There is a choice in the settings, whether to only notify about each RSID seen, or automatically switch to the appropriate modem to be ready to work each signal seen. So I can e.g. see PSK and Olivia at the same time and decide which one to try to work, automatically or manually. But then I get to wondering why is the passband only 3kHz? I guess fldigi was only designed for typical SSB radios; but the sbitx could potentially offer 25kHz bandwidth. Is there any way with any known software to monitor that much of the band at once, and decode all the digital modes? For that matter, I wonder why we can’t control the starting frequency of the waterfall on the sbitx software. It seems we can only tune to a frequency to listen to, and it will be usually in the middle of the waterfall; but maybe at a particular moment, I’d like to have the passband start at 14.070 and go up from there, to see all the typical digital modes at once, even though I’m actually using, say, FT8 on 14.074 at the moment. So I wonder if we could control it separately: set the starting frequency first, and then tune around within the 25kHz bandwidth? And also get that whole passband sent out to various kinds of software. I suppose someone (like maybe me, if I want to go down that rabbit hole… probably I would tend to put that off) could add more features to fldigi: I’m missing the FT modes and ARDOP at least. For FT8/4 it could use the same kgoba/ft8_lib that sbitx is using (which is incomplete but needs improvement anyway, to make the sbitx work better). I have no experience with ARDOP, but I wish I could start by just exploring the traffic that I can decode, and see how reliable that can be, before deciding on which frequencies I should try to get pat working. What else is out there? There is SparkSDR, which works with "Open HPSDR compatible radios”… hmm can we can get to the point that sbitx is one of them? Or maybe I should just buy a Hermes Lite to try that…

Power Supply for zBitx 9
I'm looking forward to this little radio! I'll probably end up using it mostly on battery power, but does anyone have any recommendations for a low RFI, small, 9 volt power supply capable of running the zBitx? 73, Paul, N8HM

zBitX Digital Modes 3
Will the zBitX do the JS8Call mode? I woild like to use a weak signal mode to send and receive some data to a friend who will be sailing. Thanks, Mike N2MS

zBitx coming? 19
I am hoping to catch the zBitx, however I suspect that the notification will be on Monday, as February started on the weekend. It will be an exciting thing for me to experiment and operate. I mostly have older rigs that are difficult for me to transport as I am a disabled veteran. POTA sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks, Peter - W5TXP

Need help with uBITX v6 AGC 2
I sold my uBITX v6 to my buddy, and he want AGC in it. So I ordered the AGC KIT for Bitx and uBITX from Amateur Radio Kits. Due to my health issues I can't put together and install the AGC kit in the uBITX v6. I was going to omit the vu meter with the AGC kit and use the s-meter on the Nextion but that was a can of worms, So if I covered the cost of shipping and for putting the AGC kit together and installing it in the uBITX would somebody do this for me? I'm already losing money on this thing and don't have a lot but I will find a way to pay for the service. With my luck I will probably have to sell my sBITX for it. I just need this uBITX with the AGC installed and out of my hair. -- '72 Aaron K5ATG

Using PI-5 with Sbitx-V3 32
hi..... First time poster, ...current user of Ubitx-v6. I continue to use my Ubitx-V6, it is working very well. I am thinking of buying your Sbitx-V3 board kit. I have a PI-5: I have added a SSD hat, along with an additional hats for extra USB, etc ports, and a battery supply/backup hat. The 'setup' has grown quite tall, but serves my purpose to train and learn. This PI-5 setup works well for me, and I have learned A LOT re: programming/ booting/running from the SSD,USB,etc. I use a nice monitor connected through the HDMI. Will I be able to attach your Sbitx-v3 board (kit) via a ribbon cable to the PI-5 and run the available softwares' ( if any?) for the PI-5? Any suggestions for building such a radio using the PI-5? Thank you Don in Austin

FreeDV 2.0 with Ubitx 6? 4
I'm trying to get it working but FreeDV apparently doesn't like the FT-817 hamlib setting. Usually when I try to test the cat function I get a hamlib message saying it failed to connect and/or FreeDV crashes. Any ideas? FWIW Ubitx works pretty well with FLDIGI cat control. TIA. /John W7SWB

zbitx schematic and pcb xray 3
Folks, Here is the schematic of the first version of zbitx. I already know that some things have to move on the PCB(the raspberry pi pins are inverted!). The micrcontroller is changed from the ATTINY to a Raspberry Pico. But the rest are all the same! - f

Setting sBitx V2 5
Hi group I bought an sBitx V2 #049 in April 2023 and put it on a shelf... Some weeks ago, I put battery 2032, power on, update software with JJ 4.2 setup call, Wifi, time, and play in RX. So, Im a little confuse about what I have to do to setting the V2 for TX. Do I need to set the PA bias? Do I need to set /TX call? Thanks for you help 73 qro Patrick

New Problem with uBitx V6.1. After a long period of transmission, rig stays in transmit mode 5
I have recently noticed a problem with transmission on my uBitx V6.1. When I transmit for long periods, the unit seems to hang up in transmit mode. I note on my wattmeter that there seems to be a low level of RF out during this period. If I tap the key or mike button several times it drops back into receive. It seems that the problem may be related to heat, but why it occurs is a mystery. I have this problem whether I use 12 VDC or 13.8 VDC input. I also have it when I am running the unit into a good 50 ohm dummy load. This is a relatively new problem, as I have had it for several years without this problem. It seemed to begin after spending time in a suitcase for travel overseas. The suitcase probably had some rough handling. However, there is no obvious damage to the rig or circuit board. Any suggestions or comments? 72, Marc N4DR
