Looks great!!!
I am now making fun with raspberry pi. As soon as I first received uBITX, Wow! I thought I could make something fun with this.? To do this, the first was to put the basic functions in uBITX. Like a regular radio.
And now I try to do some fun with Raspberry Pi.
I will notify you when it is released.

Ian,
I'm enjoying the v0.33 and I now have my Raspbery Pi and TFT Touch Screen so I hope to give it a go this weekend to run FT8 with the uBITX! This will be a new mode for me so an initially steep learning curve all the way around.

I think you used uBITX Manager a lot.?I think you have probably checked the Scroll display option.
The scroll display was created to show a lot of information in a small LCD of unmodified uBITX.
When other VFO frequency is scroll displayed, I am thinking of putting in the way of the previous call sign.

Ian,
Great work and very much appreciated for sharing your skills...
I have loaded your ubitx software and it is work very well. It sure is nice to have cat control...
I just received a raspi p3 and a 3.5 and 5 inch touch display? I am also looking forward to applying your Raspi pi touch interfacing with the ubitx and digital software WSJT-X.?
Would be nice to have a Pi as the touch control for the Ubitx?

Thanks for your interesting.
It will be very interesting.?What I am doing right now is not just to control uBITX.?Maybe it will be connected to most Transceiver.
This is not my effort, because it is supported by hamlib used by wsjt-x.
So uBITX only protocol is not used. For example, when switching between VFOA and VFOB,? do not switch uBITX's vfoA / vfoB,?I just made it look like this by using the memory stored in the raspberry pi.
Implementation in this way allows you to control most of the communicating radios, but uBITX's merits are gone.
I had a notice from a few weeks ago and I had a little publicity last week.
The above picture is the screen that I am working on now.?Perhaps the disk image will be released within a day or two. In fact, that screen is only a joke compared to the greatness of wsjt-x. I am only making very little changes to my favorite program. It will be distributed as an SD card image. It will be easier to use.
Thanks agian.

I know nothing about wsjt-x (so I will go away and research!), but if you can do pretty much anything to control the uBITx through Hamlin and wsjt-x then presumably this could be an (albeit outboard) simple means of providing a better interface to uBITx and obviate the need for internal processor and display upgrade?

I like the idea of using a pi as a secondary controller.. Since your cat control in the ubitx emulates ft817 - Using raspi Pi as a touch control by using your modified WSJT-x? should work ..
I am not aware of any other radio software which will fit on a small 3.5 or 5 inch touch display and work on the raspi

Thanks for interresting.
I saw the schematic you attached.?It seems to have only an encoder and a function key.?
I do not test it, but I guess. so?My guess might be wrong.
My guess is that the CW key is malfunctioning.?The CW key
(A6?)??must with pullup resistor.
If you connect any resistor around A6 and VCC, it will work normally.
(This is similar to the original source.)
And I released 0.34. The latest version adds more fun features.

i saw your posted message on my blog. and Thank you very much for youer suggestion. Most of the wsjt-x portable work is done.?It was a little late because i had to work with uBITX firmware.
Working on this, I found some things that make wsjt-x even more usable for uBITX. i will propose to the wsjt-x team after the work is done.?
Now i develop a launcher program to control raspberry pi simply with wsjtx portable.
This would be possible without a keyboard or mouse, assuming a 3.5-inch LCD is attached to uBITX.
I want to create an disk image of raspberry pi 2 and 3, respectively.?With this image, users will not need complex RPI setups, libraries and wsjtx installations, wsjt-x portable settings.
Just copy the image file to the sdcard with a utility like win32diskimager.
Your suggestion will help people who want to use wsjt-x in raspberry pi.
Thanks again.

Hi Ian:
I was wondering if you had plans to convert the support files for your software to *.cpp files from their current *.ino secondary file names (except for ubitx_30.ino)?

|
Hello Ian,
Thank you very much for the updated version (CEC) 0.34 which is the first that I have uploaded to my newly received UBitx. It has greatly improved the way my trx operates. I will be testing it for a while, but generally speaking what I've tested up till now works to my expectations. Congratulations.
One thing that it is not very clear to me is how the split mode works. Is there a link or video for it? It would save me some time from trying to guess how and it would be greatly appreciated. As you may figure out, I also like to chase some DX as a QRP station!
I would like to invest some time to some necessary hardware improvements, number one being adding AGC (testing at first the original schematic), and then adding the s-meter to pin7. I hope I can also find some time to play with your UBitx Manager.
Taking this opportunity, I would also like to comment that you are doing a very excellent job with your version of firmware for UBitx, and we as users must feel very lucky for that. Please keep the good work. ? Very sincerely,
|
Jack. Thank you for your attention and advice. I first used Arduino.?So I thought that Arduino was this style.(I did not know.)
I also decided that it would be nice to keep the original name in order to share code in github.?In fact, some or all of my code has been merged into someone else's project.
On the other hand, I received a pullrequest request from someone else and my code was modified.
But now I was wondering if I should keep this style with little or no original source left.
I released it to version 0.35 a few hours ago. It's got more features than I thought with the help of many great people. they has good idea and good suggestion.
I have put all the functions I wanted to put in, except to build in wspr.?So going to release Major in 1.0 soon.
I think this issue should be reconsidered at that point.
Thank you again for your interest.

Thanks for using this firmware.
split mode is very simple implement. when TX start (CW or PTT), Change VFO, and finish TX, back to VFO. It actually took less than five minutes to implement. Because it is so simple structure, there is probably no big problem.
Instead, I put Vfo to Channel, Channel to Vfo in v0.35.?It is a function to put frequently used frequency into a channel and to call it as a VFO.
With uBITX Manager, you can using adjust Hamband, TX control, builtin memory keyer(autokey), adjust tune step... and?Accurate CW Keying by entering precise ADC value input
I hav plan to change the version to 1.0 this week and work on the video and manual.
Thanks agian.
