sBITX Toolbox - A great companion for the sBitx transceiver is now available for public release #file-notice #sBitx #sbitx_v2 #sBITX_v3 #wiki-notice

Yes,
I will not use EZ Changer, but I will ask where you can download a version backwards?
github does not store back versions. (I have them retroactively on my HDD)
I continue to clone the current one from git and mark the previously used folder with a version number.
Maybe I'm not getting the idea right.

Hello Mukund,

Page 11 of the manual?? describes how to connect.

I will break it down in easy steps..

  1. Start sBitx and make sure it is receiving signals.
  2. Open the Scanner application.
  3. Press Main from the top menu
  4. Press Connect
  5. Set the parameters for your scanning range and press Start.

It's important to understand that the sBitx Scanner app can operate with the sBitx transceiver without needing an internet connection.

However, to use the Windows application, your computer must be connected to a network (via WiFi or Ethernet) that is also connected to the sBitx transceiver. Ensure that your sBitx transceiver has WiFi or Ethernet enabled for this setup. To verify the communication between your sBitx transceiver and computer, you can perform a simple test by executing the following steps on your Windows computer:
?
  1. Press and hold the Windows key, then press 'R'.
  2. Enter "cmd" and press enter.
  3. Type "ping sbitx.local" and press enter.

If you receive a response back like this, then you are able to connect to the sBitx transceiver and try the steps above.?

i am happy to announce that version 2.0 is now available. This version is another big step towards logical file management and data structure. New in this release are the addition of a Log Export application and cosmetic changes to the other apps. PLEASE READ BELOW!

Important Note: Due to the data structure changes, the configuration files for sBITX Manager and sBITX Launcher have moved. If you plan on upgrading from a version earlier than 2.0, then the data structure will be different and cause functional and appearance issues. It is highly recommended that you run the uninstaller first and DO NOT continue the upgrade from the Toolbox app update checker.?

Hello Ameer,

If I had to guess, I think that the Github server was having issues pulling the files or the internet connection was intermittent. Could you try to download again?

Here is what you should see.
?

If that doesn't work, then you can try to download the zip file and unpack the files on your sBitx from??
?

Ameer,

Excuse me for interrupting:
was the previous version installed before?
If so, it must be removed first, and then it can be installed by cloning.
I note that this is an unfamiliar message to me, I have not come across such a message.
I had an earlier version installed, so I did it like this after calling the terminal:

It's probably obvious to the masses, but how do run a (bash or python) script from the 'custom application' option? I can run simple commands, like 'lxwindow', but it seems anything with spaces fails silently.

Also, would it be possible to add the ability to edit the entry for custom applications? In each of my experiments, I've had to delete the erroneous entry, and re-type again.

I do like the functionality of the program - thanks JJ!

I understand some folks are having issues with the upgrade check function on version 1.x of the Toolbox. The update check on version 1.x will NOT work by upgrading to version 2.x due to file and code reorganization.

Here are the steps to remove 1.x and reinstall 2.x

For toolbox version 1.x

Open the?terminal?application on your sBitx
Type:??cd $HOME
Type:??sudo rm -rf /home/pi/sBITX-toolbox
Type:??sudo rm /usr/share/applications/sBITX_launcher.desktop
Type:??sudo rm /home/pi/Desktop/sBITX_launcher.desktop

?
To reinstall version 2.x?

Type:?git clone?https://github.com/drexjj/sBITX-toolbox.git
Type:?cd sBITX-toolbox
Type:?chmod +x *.sh
Type:?./installer.sh

Here is a sneak peak of what is coming soon to sBitx Toolbox.. It will be available on the 64bit version first and then 32bit at some point.

Great job JJ. Your effort is appreciated.

Looking forward to testing this out later, great work again JJ
Will let you know the results

I've released the USB Headset Controller App as part of the sBITX Toolbox including instructions. This is for the 64bit version only at this time. Instructions are in the guide at??

If you are using my 64bit build with Toolbox preinstalled, then you can make a copy of your data folder and temporarily place it on the desktop. Run the uninstaller from the aBITX-toolbox folder. Install the new version from the GitHub page, then copy your data folder back to the sBITX-toolbox folder.

I assume that you followed the instructions from the documentation. I apologize as I forgot to update that part of the documentation for the 64bit version and it appears that you installed the 32bit version. I have to maintain two versions of these apps and it can get confusing or things may be missed. I have since corrected the documentation.

To fix your install,? delete the sBITX-toolbox folder and type this from terminal.

cd $HOME

git clone https://github.com/drexjj/sBITX-toolbox64.git

cd sBITX-toolbox64

chmod +x *.sh

?

./installer.sh

The "sBITX-toolbox64"? installed OK here JJ, thanks again for the effort that you have put in with this.

Sidenote:? When the sbitx is sitting on the desk "doing nuffin",? why not use it as a "web radio" ??

Open up a web browser - I prefer Firefox - and type this URL in to the address :?radioside.com

I made a "button" in the sBITXtoolbox64 for this.? My favorite channel so far is "100077", what's yours?

Ioan,
if you used the "sBITX Toolbox Guide v2.2_64.pdf" to perform the operations, you will receive the message.
Because the 64-bit description lacks a reference to 64, it installs the 32-bit package.
After the uninstaller, use the instructions in message #110121. This will install the 64-bit version.

JES,
please correct the incorrect installation path.
Thanks for your persistent work.
