I have been checking out the new Macro Manager and i really like it. I think that it is a feature that I will get some use out of.?
Thank you for your hard work, I greatly appreciate it.?

Aaron?

Thank you Aaron.

@Everyone..
Are there any requested features or potential improvements to the existing scripts for the sBitx that I could explore developing?

Superb for me who doesn't know linux

@JJ, I have a couple ideas.

1:? (This might be a me problem), every time I shutdown and restart, I loose all my buttons and have to build it again.? I would like an opt-out approach, have it start with all the buttons, and then turn off the ones you don't want.

2: One button ADIF file converter.? Expand on the work that Bob did here: /g/BITX20/message/106449.? I want a single button which would do (in order of ease, I think)
a) convert the .db file to an adif file- I've just realized that Bob's code needs a small tweak so that the grids are in the right fields.? Easy fix.
b) export ALL entries rather than just a range- I'm still pretty new, so maybe this isn't right, but do qrz, LotW, etc, allow you to upload the same file over and over and they will pull out just the new contacts?? Seems a bit easier than having to go look up which entry I left off on and which one is the newest
c) email the file to myself- I mostly use my sBitx remotely (it's in the garage, I'm in the living room, it's cold in the garage).? So I use a laptop or tablet all the time to run mostly FT8.? When you push the button, it would be great to have the file emailed or somehow transferred to another source so I can upload the file to all the logbooks (qrz, eqsl, lotw, etc).
d) bonus points if when you push the button it automatically uploads to all the logbooks (assuming you pay for that ability in qrz) so I don't need the extra step of having to do that myself.

The log2adif converter has a newer version than the one mentioned above. And this is v1.2 and can be found here:

ps.: one more note. I upload to LotW with tqsl first, then to hrdlog.com and eqsl.cc.
I do not upload to qrz.com. But I download it from LotW to the qrz Logbook together with the certificates there.

Hi Jeff,

A few things.. What sBitx hardware version are you using? DE, V1, V2, V3? What sBitx software version are you running? Are you on custom software or stock?

For whatever reason, the json files are not being created or saved..

Could you open terminal and type:
cd sBITX-toolbox
ls -l

Then send me a photo of your screen?

Thanks,
JJ

I am using v1.2. The grid squares are incorrectly tagged (see the last entry in that chain) and aren't recognized by grid tracker. I suspect that the websites are populating the grids based on QTH. This could be a problem in some cases like POTA or when the operator is working away from QTH.??

Whoops, forgot to say that I'm on a V3, with the latest version (is that 3.02?), no major modifications.

Thanks Jeff.

It appears that the json files are missing..

Here is how to create the json fille for the launcher in terminal..
cd sBITX-toolbox
touch launcher.json

If you want to create a blank sBITX Manager file, then also do this in terminal..
cd sBITX-Manager
touch sbmanager_config.json

Now run the toolbox launcher and/or memory manager and add some stuff. Close, then reopen.? See if this helps.

If that doesn't work, then maybe there is a permission issue in the folders.

Okay so I tried the above.? It wouldn't let me create the json file without using sudo.? Worked fine with sudo.? But after I created the file, the toolbox stopped working all together and wouldn't run.

So I ran the uninstall tool and reinstalled (version 1.7).? There seems to be a permissions issue as I can't follow the install steps in the pdf guide without adding sudo to most of the commands.? Once 1.7 was installed, no json files.

The toolbox runs, so I added a few items, then tried to close it, but it wouldn't let me close at all.? I have to reboot to get the window to go away.? Again, when I add the json file, it won't run anymore.

Thank you for providing the extra details. After reviewing them, it's clear that the problem you're encountering is linked to the permissions associated with the user or group that can access the directories and files. The screenshot you sent earlier revealed that the ownership of the directories and files was set to root:root
?
I'm uncertain about the user context under which you are executing or initiating commands (perhaps root?), but for this situation, it would be necessary for you to execute all the .py files as the root user every time.
?
By default, the sBITX OS is set up to be used by the 'pi' user and belongs to the 'pi' group. You might want to try changing the ownership of the sBITX-toolbox directory and its files to 'pi' using the following terminal command:
sudo chown -R pi:pi /home/pi/sBITX-toolbox

After that, attempt to run the toolbox once more to see if it works as expected.
?
If you encounter a message indicating an invalid user, please go to the sbitx directory using the terminal:
cd sbitx
ls -l
?
And then share the screenshot here.

-JJ

Perfect, that was the issue!? After the chown, everything is working the way it should! I even completed one of the ideas I sent early.? I've added a button that will export the entire SQL database as an adif file (based on Bobs log2adi script).? Now it's just one click to update grid tracker!?

i am happy to announce that version 2.0 is now available. This version is another big step towards logical file management and data structure. New in this release are the addition of a Log Export application and cosmetic changes to the other apps. PLEASE READ BELOW!

Important Note: Due to the data structure changes, the configuration files for sBITX Manager and sBITX Launcher have moved. If you plan on upgrading from a version earlier than 2.0, then the data structure will be different and cause functional and appearance issues. It is highly recommended that you run the uninstaller first and DO NOT continue the upgrade from the Toolbox app update checker.?

?

-JJ

This v2.0 has grown quite a bit.
At first I thought that the Windows version was also included.
It is now much larger than the sbitx program itself. :-)
I tried it and I really like it!

ps.:? This is exactly the kind of log exporter I was thinking of. Thank you very much for your work.

Hello Mukund,

Page 11 of the manual?? describes how to connect.

I will break it down in easy steps..

  1. Start sBitx and make sure it is receiving signals.
  2. Open the Scanner application.
  3. Press Main from the top menu
  4. Press Connect
  5. Set the parameters for your scanning range and press Start.

It's important to understand that the sBitx Scanner app can operate with the sBitx transceiver without needing an internet connection.

However, to use the Windows application, your computer must be connected to a network (via WiFi or Ethernet) that is also connected to the sBitx transceiver. Ensure that your sBitx transceiver has WiFi or Ethernet enabled for this setup. To verify the communication between your sBitx transceiver and computer, you can perform a simple test by executing the following steps on your Windows computer:
?
  1. Press and hold the Windows key, then press 'R'.
  2. Enter "cmd" and press enter.
  3. Type "ping sbitx.local" and press enter.

If you receive a response back like this, then you are able to connect to the sBitx transceiver and try the steps above.?

I just noticed an error in ezChanger and corrected it. It is included in the updated version of Toolbox (v2.1).?

I also added updated versions of sBITX Manager (v2.04) and Scanner (v1.1) apps for Windows.?

Release notes:??
