DX and antenna

Hi, Got ubitx6 from hfsignals. Pretty happy with it. Very nice piece of technology I must say.
Just wanted to understand
with such qrp on voice, how far have you reached (considering present band conditions)
Also, what kind of an antenna did you use for TX.

Let me know

Here i use a small 2 element beam on 20,15,10m and verticals on the other bands, plus I sometimes use an end fed halfwave (EFHW) .? a dipole or EFHW certainty is a good antenna, if space is short bend the ends. My ubitx can qso 5000 km on ssb, conditions do change. Once I gave my call sign twice, and a op in Europe chastised me since he heard me easily the first time, and we doubled.?

Erect whatever antenna will fit, a 20m dipole with bent ends can make qsos. A qrp EFHW for 20 or 40 meters can be home constructed, info on line. You might need help finding a source to make the ferrite balun in your country or region.?

Look up QRPGuys on Google - they have some EFHW kits - might be a help.

sounds nice.... so far i have put an inverted V. Very good RX. However no stations can hear me....
looks like a bad tuning or high swr issue

so far i have not burnt the finals :D

Okay. Please note your inverted V is only expected to work well on one band, and if you cut it to a formula like 468 divided by frequency (in MHz, gives answer in feet, forgive me if you need to translate this to meters) .??

Perhaps you don't have a way to measure SWR?? Often an inverted V needs to be adjusted to a shorter length to account to interaction with the earth and its surroundings.?

The bfo calibration is important on both receive and transmit. If you are receiving ssb nicely, I am imagining it is okay.?

I have a "fan" inverted Vee for 40 and 20 meters.? I am able to tune for good SWR on both bands using my Nano VNA.? I have made a 20M contact 5356 miles away with my uBITX V6.? It blew me away that 7W would get that far!

noted Sir....just managing to get a NANO VNA and? SX20 SWR cross needle meter.

You are nicely equipped. I need to slow down to learn how to use my nanoVNA. No worries, I first used a via about 4 decades ago when it consisted of 2 large racks of equipment.?

This is not the ideal time for propagation in Northern hemisphere, but there you may be able to make some contacts. Patiently learn propagation and get your antenna adjusted.?
