Re: Transmitting off frequency Version 6
The issue with transmit vs. receive offset has been around a while and all of the alternative sketches take care of that. If you like the current interface, take a look at Reed's sketch. It uses the

Re: How Identify SI5351
Hi Ashok, I think I found the answer to your questions. At first I was only in the dark and then entered the magic keyword: Si5351 0x60 vs. 0x62 I found what I read here, this is the point: Si5351

Re: Transmitting off frequency Version 6
Jim, So the solution is to use the N8ME firmware. And I was just getting used to the stock firmware before changing anything. This issue could also be caused by that when one sets up the V6 the

Re: Transmitting off frequency
The proper way for any transceiver to operate on CW is: The key down TRANSMIT frequency should always be exactly on the frequency indicated in the display. The RECEIVER frequency is offset off of

Re: Transmitting off frequency
Thanks, Curt, but I've given up on the stock firmware. It seems to be offsetting more than the 700Hz it is supposed to. ?The N8ME does what I think it should - transmit is offset 700Hz (sidetone

Re: Interesting thought piece about electromagnetic energy. And a 0.25Hz antenna.
So, in my pondering of this video, the presenter has a theoretical example where he has hooked a lightbulb to a 12V battery with wires that stretch out and loop back 300,000 km in opposite directions.

Re: Transmitting off frequency
Howard Your ubitx is doing what I expect, possibly you tune to a lower pitch. Now try 20m operating cw in the default USB. Expect the cw transmit frequency to be about 600 Hz higher. Note with rig set

Re: Transmitting off frequency
It appears to me that the uBitx is duplicating the sidetone or at least offsetting more than it is supposed to, putting the signal approximately 500-700Hz too low. ?I'm going to go through the code

Re: Transmitting off frequency
Yes, 700Hz is more reasonable. Don't know what I was * thinking about when I pulled 3Khz out of my hat for an example. The example still holds, just use 700Hz. And the folks that chimed in added a lot

Thanks, Curt. ?Yes, it is the stock firmware. ?It does have a CW mode that can be selected but you may be right about what it is doing, though again I would expect that offset to match the sidetone

Howard If you have stock firmware there is no cw mode, it is shared with ssb. At least this is the case for older versions. On bands where lsb is used, your cw frequency will be about 700 Hz below the
