Arrived today!
Ordered my Bitx20 on Christmas Day. Arrived today, and appears to be in great shape, and well assembled. Thanks, Mr. Farhan! I am looking forward to assembling and using it. Is the sketch pre-loaded

Jeff, thanks for the heads up on the photos, looks good and thanks for the harbor freight SKU number! Roy WA0YMH

Re: It is in and working
Pictures were attached to the original message. I bought the case because it said it is an aluminum case but only the frame is aluminum. The flat sections of the case are Masonite. It is a good size

Re: It is in and working
Can you show us a photo of the radio and case? I'm still trying to figure out what to put mine in and I've got a harbor freight near by. Roy WA0YMH

Re: Bad TX audio SOLVED. Not fixed.
Looks like I'll have to roll my tuning device. I can't recommend bitx 40 to a friend without a disclaimer. "Results may vary". Maybe this is for the better. An opportunity to build my own skills, and

It is in and working
I got my BITX40 in the mail Saturday. I got it up today and checked in to the Southcars net on 7.251 Mhz. I powered it with a 11.1 volt Lipo battery that I use with the RC airplanes. It is fun to use

Re: HFSigs Bitx40: power requirement question
Hi Farhan, Jerry is talking about powering the PA separately from the main board, so 1 amp would be fine in that situation. Joel KB6QVI

Re: HFSigs Bitx40: power requirement question
a 2a supply would be needed. the pa alone can peak above 1 a draw. i use a large car battery charger with a fat 78H12 to put out 3A current. - f [email protected]> wrote:

Re: HFSigs Bitx40: power requirement question
Mine runs about 160-170ma in receive and about 380ma in Transmit with no modulation, so yes a 1 amp PS would be fine for just the board without the the PA. Joel KB6QVI

Re: Idea for future versions of BITX
DuWayne: Does this use the Arduino IDE for code development, including the libraries? Also, it seems to have a micro B USB connector, which I assume supplies the voltage for the unit. When powered

Re: Thoughts & Questions de W8LM - 1st POST
Hi Peter: The code to do a frequency readout would not be that difficult. Since the rig is single band, the VFO could be constrained to the limits of the band for the country in question. (My Arduino

Re: Regarding the future of BITX... (off with his head)
I did a club build that was based on a Mega 2560 Pro Mini. It used an AD9850 to generate the test signals and the custom PCB plugged directly into an mcufriend TFT display. This formed a three-board

Re: Regarding the future of BITX... (off with his head)
While I agree with Jack, I don't think one needs to go all the way to the Teensy 3.6 to get good results. E.g., the Teensy LC can be used at half the price. Speaking of dual mcus, the Ham Radio India

Re: Regarding the future of BITX... (off with his head)
Teensy 3.6 is the way to go for demanding applications as it is so much better all round.? However it does carry quite a premium cost compared to Arduinos (UK). If you read my post I did abandon two

HFSigs Bitx40: power requirement question
If the PA is powered separately, how many amps at 12 volts is needed to power the rest of the rig? Would a 1 amp 12volt supply suffice? Thanks Jerry AA1OF Sent from my iPad

Re: Idea for future versions of BITX
For a couple projects I am working on I have been trying a small STM32 board? I found on e-bay and other locations.? It is commonly known as the blue pill.

So for your blind friends are you thinking an audio frequency readout, and maybe a welcome message? Also maybe a large on off switch ? [email protected]> wrote:

Re: Higher voltage for Bitx40 Final
Are you sure that's a good idea? Powering PA part from cheap step up converter (RF interferences, voltage peaks and so on) ? Maybe it's better o power PA from decent 24V power supply and add 12V LDO

I did it again. I really meant 7.2850 the *QRP SSB calling frequency. It's late. I am tired. Goodnight.*
