Hi Ken,
I did Alison's changes for the relays on my v3.? It might work well for you, as with the relays mounted on the bottom side, their pins all end up on the top side where most of the traces are.? I can upload pictures of my board if you want.? The work will require changes to the raduino code afterwards. 73, Mark |

Re: D hole plate to fit SO-239 bulkhead hole - SO-239 to BNC conversion
When I see a 50 ohm BNC receptacle that is unreliable its likely because
someone plugged in a 75 ohm into it and sometime verse visa. They have different plastic sizing and the center pin and socket are differently sized. Same issue for the oddball but occasional 75 ohm type N. Allison --------------------------------- No direct email, it goes to bit bucket due address harvesting in groups.IO |
Re: D hole plate to fit SO-239 bulkhead hole - SO-239 to BNC conversion
Some may not be aware that if you remove the locking ring from a BNC male connector, it will plug into an N connector. Shops sometimes make quick-connect jumpers this way.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Dave, There are a bunch of off shore connectors out there that are just a mess. If you stick with named connectors- Amphenol, Connex etc, the center pin spreading is not an? issue. Re: Bitx 20 front panel
Forgot to answer the fuse question.
For the uBITX series, the 3 amp fuse would be correct.? Since the BITX20 has only a single IFR510 as the PA, I would assume that the current requirements would be less.? Since the fuse is more to protect the wires than the finals (there has been a lot of discussion and varying opinions on that) the 3 amp would work. 73 Evan AC9TU |
Re: Bitx 20 front panel
Dick,
To be clear, do you have a uBITX version 6 with the touch screen or a BITX20 which was a single band 20-meter radio?? It does make a huge differance.? The model should be printed on the mainboard. IF you have the uBITX version 6, then the firmware files are here: I do not know the current version for the BITX 20, nor where it is kept. 73 Evan AC9TU |
Bitx 20 front panel
Hi Folks,
Just finished my first attempt at the Bitx 20 today.??? At the risk of appearing stupid, but I need to make sure before I put power to the unit.?? If were looking at the front panel the small jacks from left to right are the mike, key and ear phones? Do I have that right.?? Also what size fuse is everyone using??? 3 amp enough? Re: Setup menu uBitx V6 codeV6.1
Forget the question I asked.... I found it..... what was making it hard was the amount of time I had to hold the encoder in.? I also read (since? this question has been asked several times) to hold the encoder in right after turn on and CW selected... plus I now know it takes several seconds... for the set up menu to come up....?

Setup menu uBitx V6 codeV6.1
OK, now that I got the mic cable fixed, I am on to checking the power out.? I would like to use mic and the CW selection.? Where I am at now is when I push the mic button with CW on I get a dot dot dot .......dot .? I was expecting a continuous tone.? I am wondering if I got the straight key selected.? From the uBitx V6 Operations page it indicates I can select a straight key from the set up menu.? I have not been able to find where I can select a straight key from the display menu assuming that is the setup menu.? ?How do get to that selection???? thanks in advance

Hi all,
I have the amateuradiokits case which has its own front panel pcb the audio1 header on the v6 connects into this which in turn connects to the external audio amp supplied with the case. In terms of installing the digiboard I assume splicing into the loom from the audio header to the pcb is probably the best option ? |
