I ordered a uBITX case kit from Sunil at amateurradiokits.in several weeks ago. After ordering the standard case, I realized I wanted to upgrade to the NEXTION 5 inch one.? ?My confused ordering efforts were patiently handled by Sunil and I was rewarded with a marvelous case kit with all the necessary hardware and extra features of AGC, Audio and preps for future mods.? The powder coating was beautiful and everything was high quality.? The packing and shipping was very satisfactory and I was surprised at the speed of delivery.? Sunil was a pleasure to work with.? The thing that made me nervous about it was they didn't say it was compatible with the Arduino IDE or its libraries.? If it was compatible, they would have said that.

The only drawback we've found is that you can only use 3.3V compatible I/O as the Teensy 4's input/output pins are NOT 5 volt tolerant. ?Bear that in mind when using it. ?We spell that out explicitly in all our documentation.

The RobotDyn SAMD21 board looks similar, but is not a Nano plug in replacement.

For starters, there are 14 pins on each side vs 15 on the Nano.
The Raduino uses all available Nano pins, so the RobotDyn board will be short two.

Just catching up. ?As I recall the JackAl mod didn¡¯t allow you to select 17 meters from the display (could type in 18.xxx mhz though)... and I remember a post from Jack saying that the uBITx was not designed for 17 meters... but I guess it was since its on the v6 display??? ? That¡¯s not confusing. ?

One group that I belong to has sub groups in it so you still log into the same group yet there are sub categories. ?I do see where this would be a slight issue when a problem is across all versions but it might clean up things a litte. ?Just sayin....

We re-wrote the keyer to use the A6 and A7(spare) inputs with A6 being the DOT input and A7 being the DASH input.? This also requires a separate jack for the paddles but makes the keyer really sing if the mods are done.

TSW also plans our own Raduino Clone for the V6 that will have pluggable jumpers to cover removing the voltages and will operate exactly as a Factory Raduino using a NANO or by setting the jumpers work with the Teensy 4/adapter in place of the nano without cutting any traces or removing R2.? Andy,

I have found that the BFO adjustment will make the uBitx sound terrible, tinny and full of high pops. Adjusted properly, the rigs (I have 3) all sound good.? Not great like my IC-7300, but good.

I would recommend trying the attached procedure, assuming that you have a device with internet and mic capability.? It works well, and will let you know visually that the rig's BFO is adjusted as best it can be.


NOTE: you will need a microphone connected and allow access to it to use the audio spectrum analyzer on the HFSignals web page. It works with my ipads and iphones if you do not have a pc/laptop with mic.

I hadn't seen that setting before. I'm sure that is the same setting that is available in Memory Manager. I will give it a try tonight.? ? I did not understand that there was a separate BFO calibration for SSB and CW.? Can anyone explain why there needs to be a separate BFO calibration for CW?

Hello Dean,

I simply used the settings from the menu on the rig. First enable settings, then return to the menu and extra settings are available like for the ssb bfo adjustment.

I set mine so that I cut as much as possible the higher audio tones. It means that I most likely let some of the low audio frequencies of the opposite side band through, but it is more pleasant than the full ssb bandwidth when listening to cw imo.

I used Memory Manager previously to set the BFO and master calibration for SSB and as far as I can tell they are spot on.? I am comfortable with using it.

There is the CW (L/U) BFO Calibration setting (see below).? I presume this is the one you are referring to.? Can you or anyone explain what this value does and what range of values I should? try?? I believe I read on Ian's site to set it to 700 - but that did not seem to make any difference.
