Re: LSB signal looking more like AM

Mine has a diode where that is supposed to be.

Re: Ashhar Farhan #ubitx

I now understand I should swap out the relays but there is still part of my original question.

I asked if there are any mods that need to be done to the current version you are shipping

Is there a list somewhere or or is the rest of the V4 ready to use?

Thanks in advance.

Tuning MBITX

1) When we followed Tune up instructions for adjustment of the Power Amplifier Bias - All currents measure ok by instructions up until speaking into microphone, the current did not increase as per instructions, Can you help?
2) Audio output extremely low?
3) 10k and 2.2k resistors in parts list not mentioned in wire up diagram, where do they go can you help?

When I had the same problem changing the encoder fixed it. Good luck!

Re: JackAl display delivery times #ubitx

Hi I concur with Jack about capacitive screens being less precise. I have a tablet with capacitive screen it it some times jumps to conclusions with out me touching it. I have also noticed it doesn't like RF but that may be just mine. Anyway eagerly awaiting the boards. Many thanks for the work and effort put in to the designers and testers.

Re: Ubitx will not tune.

try to clear the memory locations before loading stock firmware, once you had used cec firmware.. thereis one .ino that clears eeprom locations.

Make sure they aren¡¯t shorted together. ?Check the encoder inputs then turn the knob a minimal amount and check them again, only one should have changed.

Re: Ubitx will not tune.

There is no lock symbol on display, but powered down and back on. Without doing anything else, I tried to tune and it would not tune.

Good thought...? That feature "got" me for a minute when it first happened.
Power off reset should fix...

Did you / Can you check for voltage transition at the Raduino pins 7 & 8??? If not present there, look at the wiring to the encoder.? If present on 6 & 7, sounds like a Raduino problem (maybe ;)?

Nextion 2.4" display,,, Neat

A ham friend, a Bitx owner, my Elmer, KD0YTE, gave me a Nextion display for Christmas. I was surprised at how easy the install went on my ubitx v3.

A big thanks to both KD8CEC for designing such a neat product and KD0YTE for giving me the screen.

Re: JackAl display delivery times #ubitx

The code for doing the calibration is not trivial, as the display is not linear. That is, moving down 5 and across 4 doesn't necessarily put you on the right cursor. By the time you get to the lower-right quadrant, it's off quite a bit. We had to account for that slop in our code.

Thanks for the quick reply Jack.??

I pretty much expected the board+BOM method, which is fine.? I've done that before. I'm patiently awaiting the availability as I'd love to play with this.? I have an unmodified EARLY uBITX that I've had wonderful results with using an AlexLoop.??

I may purchase BOTH resistive and capacitive and see how they work out.? I think the cap screen should be OK as long as we have a way to tweak the calibration.

Re: Ashhar Farhan #ubitx

Ashhar as stated that he has prototype boards with the fixes that he is testing.? I have not heard of any fixes currently in production.? This was last week that I remember seeing the note from him.

I am over 65, so memory can play tricks on me at that age ;)

Re: Ashhar Farhan #ubitx

Attached you find one of the relays I did replace with the Axicom ones. Mine is version 3, arrived in March or April this year. I don't have a real Spectrum Analyzer but I nearly always use a SOFTROCK ENSEMBLE with it (I currently use separate TX and RX like in the sixties also during contests) and the third harmonics of the 40m on 15m was likely down just 25db or so. The Axicom relays are better.
