¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe Raduino¡¯s used with the uBITX and BITX40 are identical with one exception, the 16 pin P3 connector. The uBitx used a 16 pin right angle header to plug into the main board.? The BITX40 uses a 5 pin molex style connector? at pins 12 thru 16 of P3. Starting with a bare board you have your choice of which connector to use for the appropriate radio. Totally interchangeable with the one exception. ? Paul KL7FLR ? |

Take your voltmeter and monitor the voltage at the blue wire pin 2 on the Raduino. It should be ~ 0 volts when the key is pressed and +5V when not pressed. If it isn't you have a wiring issue, if it is possible Raduino issue. Howard On 8/17/2018 3:15 PM, Joe Milosch wrote: Hi, I recently built my ubitx, and after assembling it received perfectly. uBITx intermittent cw transmit
Joe Milosch
Hi,
I recently built my ubitx, and after assembling it received perfectly. I just got my HAM license, so I decided to see how the cw key function worked. There seems to be a problem. Hiro san,
To do testing on SSB a audio tone signal source is needed. There are aps for android and Iphone that do this.? The procedure is generate the 1.5khz tone and inject it into the microphone input.? Turn audio source volume up until power does not increase then reduce to the specified 80% of max power for each band.? Repeat this on a per band basis for best results.? Note power out used for that band. Allison |
N6ALT: Nextion 3.2 inch Enhanced display not displaying right
Hi all,
I have updated the uBitx to KD8CDC's 1.097 firmware and the the latest Nextion 3.2 E tft file to the 3.2 inch display. The display updates and shows up okay except it doesn't fill the right hand side of the display. It's about 3/4 of inch in on that side. The top and bottom fit okay just not the right side. I have tried other size files and they wont load because a get a wrong file error. Anybody else notice this? It almost has to be the file as there is nothing more I can do. Tried other SD cards with same problem. Joel N6ALT |

Re: Please advise
Thanks. Its been years since I have had to think about electronics. Sometimes its as if I never taught it.
The reason for this project is I was getting bored with 100 watts and at the same time had problems with my 100 W radio which I can't ever afford to replace. Thanks again mike WM4MM ? |
#ubitx. Strange RFI problem
Bo Barry
I updated to 1.97 and developed two problems.
1. On 40 meters, when FT8 or WSPR finishes a cycle, the transmitter switches to LSB and stays keyed. Power off on the Randuino required. 2. My iambic paddle sends a dash initially on the dits. I fixed it earlier with the previous firmware /manager program. The new manager has two places for the ditch and dash A/D values. I got the measured values (nice feature) but don't know what numbers to use. I'll probably find the obvious solutions later, but ideas appreciated in the meantime. The little ubitx covers the country on WSPR with its 10 watts on 20 at night when the band is dead! Bo W4GHV? |
#ubitx. Increasing power output

?I know this is an old topic, but I want to do some SIMPLE tinkering & learning.
I put 'socket pins' in for the 6 3904s thinking I could simply find some 'hotter' replacements. ? Well I tried some 5109 and 2369s found on eBay. No noticeable improvements noted. Then I tried my hand with LTSPICE, having used in since the 60's and taught it until '06. ?One of the transistors was in their library and I think I added the model for the 5109 correctly. Not sure my setup is 100%, but I did get similar dismal results. Anyone have some transistor types that may work.? Not interested in other mods YET.? I used to be addicted (and very skilled) in several versions if SPICE. Still have the MicroSim version somewhere. Bo W4GHV? ?? |
Re: Spurious Emission Measurement on stock uBitX
Iz, Thanks for reading. No, I didn¡¯t insert any LPF but only the simple pi-tuner was there btw uBitX and analyzer, because I thought pi-tuner might work as a kind of BPF. There will be a possibility to suppress the spur emission if I add a LFP but what I observed was the spur of 28MHz with AT was OK but 21 MHz was not. So maybe I need some drastic solution, I suppose. Here is a manual of TRIO AT-200 antenna tuner, if you are interested in it. Yes, I¡¯m planning to do like what you did. So I already got AA-30.ZERO antenna analyzer. Thanks for your comments. // hiro, JJ1FXF 2018Äê8ÔÂ18ÈÕ(ÍÁ) 0:30 iz oos <and2oosiz2@...>:

Re: Spurious Emission Measurement on stock uBitX
Hi Hiro, nice analysis, if I understand right if you add also any 30mhz (also like CB) lowpass filter you may transmit on 15m band. Isn't? Is the Trio tuner a simple pi-tuner? I have just done a variable low pass filter with a double 450pf air variable capacitor a six position switch and a 130-7 toroid and looking at PC the results from my antenna analyzer it seems better than expected.
