That is almost funny itself. ?I knew April 1 was coming and caught on early. ?Bill always has something that gets us all thinking. ?This year it was the only April Fool joke I even heard about.

It's as entertaining as Bill N2CQR's "eutecticaroma" ... :) I suggested he go out for a game of goff.

Jerry, pretty sure that if you DO try to solder a skunk, it'll smoke.

Not much said recently about solder or smoke.
I'm hoping the "or" will keep me from getting sued by Bill.

Knobs

Another source for unusual knobs (and lots and lots of other very cool stuff):

Kenwood KMC-32 DTMF Microphone #ubitx #bitx20 #bitx40

Anyone using this DTMF mic with any flavour of BITX?

Maybe they're aware of it and are turning it around by continuing to reply?

There is a free version of Diptrace, but it has some limits.

Familiar mantra, raoul: better to beg forgiveness than ask permission. You can travel a long way before a snowdrift.

Re: Got Some Case Work Done #bitx20

I love that "Drake" spinner knob. They are pricey on ebay, so I will need to make something similar.

Nice clean job overall!

Re: AGC Added to uBITx

Is there a schematic for this? AGC ? .. I've not been able to find one so far .

New uBITX on the air!

Bill Carpenter

Mine arrived yesterday and assembly went fairly quickly.? I loaded the KD8CEC software and had a nice CW QSO with a W9 in WI who gave me a 579.? This was with the rig spread across my operating desk since I have no enclosure yet.? Plan to try wiring up an Icom HM-103 mic today so I can try SSB.? Also plan to put a Hi-Per-Mite CW filter I already had in line.

The only negative so far is that annoying pop.? I know there are mods to address it but which one is the easiest/best?

Re: AGC Added to uBITx

I checked into this AGC but it's pretty expensive to ship to the US - the dollar equivalent of??25.

Has anyone found anything similar here in the US? I can build one from scratch but I would prefer one nicely made up on a PCB.

Re: Open letter to the uBITX community from Jim Sheldon, W0EB. #ubitx

Solution? ?Use it until L-M tells you to stop. When/if they tell you to stop, stop. Done.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State and the US Olympic Committee was going after everybody who had "Olympic" somewhere in their name. ?You can bet there are a lot of them. Some of them wrote back saying "Stuff it. Do it and we'll let the world know what asses you are." There are a lot of retired lawyers who live up here who don't have much else to do and that's why they shook their collective fists at the Olympic Committee. The AG of Washington also sent one of the retired lawyers a note telling them to keep him informed. The Olympic Committee found someone else's tree to shake.

HI Jim.
I'd like to add that these are my sentiments as well. I do this for the fun and for benefit of the community... Not to make a profit or out do others.

BTW, I like the features you have in your FW, I might give it a go on "my" board, Ive been using Ian Lees one with success...
73 and thanks for all the work!

Re: Another uBitx Add-on PCB.

HI All.
Boards arrived today, I will assemble one and test. Hoping to feed it into an audio spectrum analyzer to provide some idea of its exact performance/response. I will ship them out to folks who have ordered ASAP.
Might be a delay, we have an impending cyclone in the area and I've taken down my antenna, I'd like to test it in the uBITX with a real signal...

Thanks. Nick
