Re: BITX40 Sensitivity

I like that one jack I might have to get one.

Rotary encoder

Can anyone tell me how can I replace the tuning pot for a rotary encoder??? Encoders are more comfortable for me...

Re: Enclosures again...

It's a great idea... I still waiting for my kit, but I'm looking for a convenient enclosure to work everywhere, at home, on the field, on my truck.... Pelican boxes are a great idea

Has anyone considered building their BitX into a Pelican box like this company has? The one they have isn't a BitX but the idea's there. The 1120 is going for about $30 (w/ free shipping) on ebay if you find the right seller - someone is selling all of the colors for that price.

I have that generator and it works as advertised. However, I kind of wish I had this one, which is about the same price but with more functionality. Has anyone used this one?

K5BCQ has a kit called "Damm Reliable Attenuator".?? Get it with the switches with choice of BNC or SMA.

9 Stages.? What a nice kit!? Under $15.? Over 100 db.

Fun to build.? I checked out mine, it is plenty accurate.

Search for it.

Re: a missing capciator C93 or C103 for Bitx40v3

Oh, I need the instructions to add a power supply, antenna, etc. to it. The ham that handed it to me had no paper items except for a half page of paper that listed some components.

I don't see a way to edit my previous post or I would have done that instead of making a new one.

Re: a missing capciator C93 or C103 for Bitx40v3

Okay, don't worry about it then.

I would like some instructions and schematic. I looked through the files section here, but I'm not sure I got the correct ones.

Thanks,

Re: a missing capciator C93 or C103 for Bitx40v3

Jim :?

The Bitx40v3 board came preassembled, likely that cap is the the one intended to go between wiper and ground on the tuning pot.?

See details at :?

Note that this figure depicts a 10 turn pot, but you want same setup from Wiper to ground on a regular linear 10 pot.?

cheers

Michael VE3WMB?

Re: a missing capciator C93 or C103 for Bitx40v3

No need for any of them. The parts are included in the event you want to revert to the analog VFO. The Raduino replaced the need for the additional componets.

Subject: [BITX20] a missing capciator C93 or C103 for Bitx40v3

I have one small ceramic capcitator in the parts box i was handed by the hm who felt he couldn't complete the kit. But there are 2 locations on the Bitx40v3 board I have. There is another spot by the toroid, by itself, that as far as i can read it, no D15 nor D16 is installed either.

Are the mising ? Or don't need to be installed ?

Thanks,

Re: IRF 520

Michael,

The IRF510 has a input capacitance of 180PF vs the 520 being about 360PF, so you may have to turn up the drive level a bit more, but the 520's should work fine. I have used them interchangeably and had very similar results with both.

Re: Raduino v1.18 (improved CW performance) released

Michael Davis

I had asked Allard and group the same question. Very recently I uploaded v1.17.1. I had the anti-gallop switches but removed them when I updated. I set my bitx to tune the entire band (no CW) occasionally I still hit the bottom of the 10 turn pot (yes you'll need one) the radio gallops. My buddy kept his in and his doesn't gallop, but I seem to remember that it doesn't maintain the last freq set before we turn it off. You will need one of the push buttons for a function switch (orange to ground) and a 10k resistor soldered to the main board and in the black position of the Arduino 8 pin plug for PTT sense whick will prevent FMing. I'll send you the wiring photos.

Jim,
From the instructions at
Solder the 0.1uF disc ceramic (marked as 104) between the yellow and violet wires on the tuning pot
