What's this about and what did I miss? Might be a good one to attach to the original email. Re: Unbalancing mixer
You can inject a few millamps into the modulator at the center tap. - f On 19 Feb 2017 7:09 p.m., "Ken" <chase8043@...> wrote:

suitable voltage rating. What would that rating be? Thanks Steve

Re: compressor or processor for BITX40?

already increased it. I do get the normal amount of output power (7W). It's just that I believe that especially for QRP operation, increasing the average SSB output power by applying some audio compression could make this rig more effective. If even many QRO ops use processors, then why wouldn't QRP ops do the same? So perhaps some simple compression could be achieved by adding some extra components at the mike input stage? Does anybody have suggestions for this? 73, Allard PE1NWL On Sun, February 19, 2017 03:29, John Smith via Groups.Io wrote:

I just wired up a cheap CB microphone, I'm using a Sadelta Bravo Plus ..I ?bought it as it was cheap and it's been in my box of Bits for sometime, I knew it would come in handy though ?:-)

Re: compressor or processor for BITX40?
Hello Allard ,
I have the same experience and therefore I am thinking about building the PA0FRI RF speech processor for the Bitx40. Go to Select: "MISC " And then select: " double-sideband speech processor", the sixth item in the list . A kit can be ordered at www.kent-Electronics.nl 73, Cor - PA4Q With QRP levels it is often a challenge to make SSB QSO's on 40m. With my BITX40 I need to shout in the mike to produce some TX power. It would seem logical to increase the "talking power" somewhat by using a compressor or processor. Does anybody have suggestions how this could be realized in a simple way? 73, Allard PE1NWL |
