Re: Help: Import tax Germany
#zbitx
Hello Peter!
I think something's been misinterpreted. As a private individual, you won't be assigned an EORI number. You're not an "Wirtschaftsbeteiligter". DHL handled customs clearance without any problems. Perhaps an email to DHL will help clear up the misunderstanding. |
Help: Import tax Germany
#zbitx
Yesterday I have received an email from the German tax office.
It appears that my zBitx is stuck in the tax office¡
Never received something like this request before.
Is there anybody from Germany out with the same experience and how to react?

Re: zBitx Expected noise?
Robert,
?
You may be on to something here, I setup my zBitx to the exact parameters as your is set and noticed a marked reduction of display chuffing, it's still there but way better. If I turn the IF gain up to 39 is comes back, reduce it back to 38 it gets way better, the waterfall being almost perfectly clear, all this being done with out a antenna connected of course. Now when I switch to 40M it's still fairly quiet. For the time being I'm going to leave the IF gain set to 38 or below and see how things go. I have to ask myself why one increment higher would add that much noise to the radio.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI set same parameters as Robert (shown in his video). I have extremely quiet radio (on 9V switching, external power supply). Don in Austin, N5CID

The added BOXCON USB-A to micro-USB adaptor, white, small, delivered in a red/transparant sleeve is absolute garbage.
It shorts the micro-USB port in the zBitx, thus crashing the PI... PLease do NOT add this item to further shippings as the quality can not be guaranteed. I will have to next week for delivery of a good micro-usb to USB-A adaptor, rendering the zbitx useles in the box... Such a shame. Martin, PD0ZZ, Netherlands |
Re: zBitx Expected noise?
I am trying to see what is going on with your radio. ?I do not have that kind of sound from mine. ?The waterfall display looks like there is a weird signal there. ?Is your antenna connected? ?Do you have an external display hooked up to the HDMI?

My shared album contains a 14-second video. The radio is on CW, and there are no other connections. (Sorry for the bad lighting, I have not finished the system setup.

Re: zBitx speaker noise?
#zbitx
It clearly is the refreshing of the screen that is disturbing. There are more complaints, so I think Ashar will adress this problem. I did NOT notice the flickering of the waterfall on the added (hdmi)screen, by the way, but then, it affects the sound too... |

Re: Microphone and stand
The stock sbitx mic doesn¡¯t work well on an sbitx in stock form due to lack of drive. ?It does work on the zbitx as I have used it but the zbitx also suffers from lack of mic drive. ?
?
I have modded the stock mic with a new higher gain element as have many others. ?I think the details are in JJs (64 bit sbitx) wiki page. ?The modded mic works very well with the zbitx.
