Re: Spectrum display window bug

If this does not work, I suspect some compile files are missing some data. Joe VE1BWV On Mon, Apr 7, 2025 at 6:08?PM Joe via <joeman2116=[email protected]> wrote:

Zbitx arrived with major issues
Well, my long awaited ZBitx arrived 4 hours ago.? Put the batteries in, connected an antenna and was soon listening to lots of stations on 40 and 20 meters.? But when I tried to call out, no one responded.? I got a friend to tune up and listen.? I heard him clearly, he heard nothing when I transmitted.
?
I then tried a local receiver, and same thing but maybe worse:? I hear no audio when in TX but do hear a constant carrier on the receiver on the Zbits tuned frequency (this is in SSB Mode).? If I start shifting the receiver off frequency, I can hear some modulation products 1.5 kHz away, but nothing with useful readability.
?
The SWR and power meter on the Zbitx show power and low SWR, as does an external wattmeter.? The ZBitx also gets hot, so I know power is being made, but that power doesn't seem to be related to the tuned frequency.
?
One last item, as I got finally frustrated, I picked up the Zbitx while in TX and heard noise from the local receiver.? Tapping on the metal bottom produced some tapping sounds in the receiver.? But even that was inconsistent.
?
So, I suspect something is loose/broken in the new Zbitx.? I don't mind trying to troubleshoot, but I'd much prefer having a radio that works as anticipated, as I don't have infinite time to waste fixing someone else's problem.
?
Has anyone else had similar issues?
?
What do you suggest as remedial action???

Re: Spectrum display window bug

Yes, i did resolve it. I thought i had documented or taken pictures of the settings. I am looking thru my old paper work. ( I have sold the Sbitx a while back so don't have it to compare to) Hmm maybe even in one of my emails. Checking Joe VE1BWV? On Mon, Apr 7, 2025, 5:27?p.m. HA3HZ via <gyula=[email protected]> wrote:

Joel, if I remember correctly, you had a CAT problem with wsjtx back in the 32-bit era. Did you manage to fix it?

Re: Homebrew satellite control system that can run on sBitx
Some additional careful measurements with a spectrum analyzer, tracking generator and calibrated attenuators, the outside antenna, and such.?
?
the sensitivity of the sbitx on 10m seems right in line with typical HF receivers without a preamp. It was designed for maximum dynamic range! ?
working with the $165 Ukrainian transverter looks like I am almost to the noise figure/sensitivity that I need. ? Adding 10 DB or so of low noise preamplifier gain in front should make a great deal of improvement.
?
the $120 preamp on DX engine engineering looks like a good possibility of success. So it is ordered and we¡¯ll see what happens!
?
I have the advantage that I¡¯m not going to be transmitting into the same antenna, and I will put a diplexer in ?front of the receive preamp anyway to help protect ?

Hi Pete,
???? I'm using a small calculator stand, because I haven't found anything better yet. But actually it seems to work well.

Re: Wifi Alternate - Can you copy wpa_supplicant.conf into boot folder to get wifi?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCould be. I never knew such a thing existed. I guess I should get one of those. Also a USB-C one (which I definitely knew about).?-- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV, WRVB670?-?Erie, PA Email: buddy@... Mobile: (814) 431-0962

Re: Homebrew satellite control system that can run on sBitx
I'm just a sucker for trying to use the least expensive gear....so even though the sBitx / transverter system just couldn't create enough sensitivity.... I ordered a GaAs FET preamp with up to 20dB gain in hopes of making the sBitx work on this project!

Same issue here. I am looking for the settings I used on my Sbitx, to see if that?helps. As you indicated ft8 rx is working TX or any cat commands don't work Joe VE1BWV? On Fri, Apr 4, 2025, 9:00?a.m. Chris Bolton via <boltonbicycles=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: New Member
Gary,
Hope dies last because you've read a lot about it but haven't seen it in action.
This device is an RPi-controlled SDR radio, packed as small as possible, with its advantages and disadvantages.
Not all options installed on the board work, and several applications work differently than you've seen so far. --

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve had the same question for some time. For reasons, local access to the Pi, at least initially, is going to be difficult to impossible for me otherwise.-- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV, WRVB670?-?Erie, PA Email: buddy@... Mobile: (814) 431-0962
