Re: v3 software, alpha is here
I will try manual logging to entries. I do it all the time on cw, let me try it on ft8 today. On Sat, Nov 18, 2023, 12:30 AM HA3HZ <gyula@...> wrote: I am using Sbitx_v3. |
Re: v3 software, alpha is here
Gyula, The code triggers a log entry upon exchange of signal reports. This has been a long pending request by many people on the wsjtx-dev group. The idea of RRR/RR73/73 is to prevent retransmission from the called party of the return signal report (which starts with R, like R-13). -f On Sat, Nov 18, 2023, 12:30 AM HA3HZ <gyula@...> wrote: I am using Sbitx_v3. |

Has a signal strength?meter or LED display been added to the v3 or does the swr display double as a signal strength indication? G0RCL On Fri, 17 Nov 2023 at 19:00, HA3HZ <gyula@...> wrote: I am using Sbitx_v3. |
thanks for those insights.? ?Fascinating the choices designers make! gordon kx4z On Fri, Nov 17, 2023 at 11:52?AM Ashhar Farhan <farhanbox@...> wrote:

The KX3 is a direct conversion transmitter. It has a single oscillator at the tx frequency. It will have no spurs, only the harmonics, and the push-pull power chain can null the 2nd order harmonics very well. The reason we didn't opt for it was that the IMD as well as the images are not very well controlled. For instance, on sbitx the opposite sideband is non existant. On kx3, -55dbc is your best case. - f On Fri, Nov 17, 2023, 10:15 PM Gordon Gibby <docvacuumtubes@...> wrote: Thanks very much, Bob!? ?Those look like they generally agree with what I found (after correcting for the problems with D20/D21).? ?You and I also see some increase in the noise spectrum around the fundamental, and some spurs that are right around the limit, but the low pass filters are doing a fine job on the harmonics.? ? Thanks also for including the KX3 for comparison! |

Bob, Thanks for the thorough comparisions. Very often, we are at the limits of measurements with these instruments. A professional Rigol 815 is my priced possession though I often get by with just the Antuino. - f On Fri, Nov 17, 2023, 9:55 PM Bob Benedict, KD8CGH <rkayakr@...> wrote: I uploaded to the files section a pdf on what I have been seeing while measuring the spectrum output of my sBITX V2. Hajo, Which radio do you have? Can you see the yellow modulation as you speak? What is the drive settings. - f On Fri, Nov 17, 2023, 9:10 PM Hajo <hajodo140@...> wrote: Problems with my sBitx Swv 2 and 3! |
Re: BITX20 Kit
A classic mistake for a first radio is to go qrp. Instead, a used 100 watt HF radio from Yaesu or Icom would be best. People will come back to your calls, even a suboptimal antenna will do. - f On Fri, Nov 17, 2023, 8:11 PM Len Matulewicz <lenjmat@...> wrote:

This is not a starter radio.? It will make you think far less of the hobby.? This is a constant work in process, fun to many, but be aware you will spend more on support and upgrade crap than the radio. UBITX v6 is what I have. Added AGC. Added a used digital noise reduction. Added a auto tuner.? K9ZZU On Fri, Nov 17, 2023 at 8:25 AM ronwend523 via <ronwend523=yahoo.com@groups.io> wrote: I have been looking for a small HF radio to go portable with. We already do this, I'm just working on cleaning up the code and may be make it useful to others. This is the backend API and UI we use in our system: - Rafael On 11/16/23 20:08, Dave, N1AI wrote:
