This is a constant work in process, fun to many, but be aware you will spend more on support and upgrade crap than the radio. UBITX v6 is what I have. Added AGC. Added a used digital noise reduction. Added a auto tuner.?

I have been looking for a small HF radio to go portable with. After doing much searching I found these kits and decided this was my start. I have many questions about the thing and I'm researching all I can to better understand them. I know very little about the workings of these units but I am learning. Got to start somewhere. I enjoy putting together electronics kits and this one will be fun. To be portable with this thing, I'm not sure what type of antenna I should use. I'm thinking NVIS EFHW to pretty much stay local for now, when out and about. I'm also thinking 40 meters would be a good goal and 80 meters is another? but that's another thought to figure out. I see there are many mods that can be done and it would be nice to upgrade the screen but at this point it may be to far out of my knowledge. I always join groups that deal with my interests and this looked like the place for this radio.
