Re: Power supply for Ubitx
Gerard, your transformer maybe under powered. The unregulated voltage should be at least 3v over 12, ie 15v for the regulator to work properly. On Thu, Mar 24, 2022, 6:12 PM Gerard <kabupos@...> wrote:

Power supply for Ubitx
Hello,
I tested different power supplies for my Ubitx Homebrew.
I¡¯ve eliminated switching power supplies because they¡¯re too noisy.
I tested a power supply of my design, but the audio amp also gives 50 htz noise.??
I tested a power supply bought on E...Y based with a LM338K, less noisy but there is still some snoring 50htz.??
Have you tested this type of filter in power output, or to put on the power line of the audio circuit. (Can be in 60htz at home?) like this??
or other solutions? cdt ? |

offtopic: wsjtx-x udp reader in simple c
Peeps, I have been hacking away at adding features to the sbitx. I decided to implement an "in-app" viewer of the wsjtx but I couldn't find any simple code. I wrote it this afternoon. The code is a standalone UDP program in C that listens on port 2237 and interprets the F8 activity sent by wsjtx running in the background. It should work well on windows as well if you just change the library and the headers. It is on? To compile it on linux, just type: ?gcc -o udp wsjtx_udp.c? And run it from the command line. - f |

Hello Chris
Thanks for your reply, yes at the time I write this letter, I also found, that the big elco capacitor Vcc filter is mandatory. I also experiment that one 1000uF is needed. My AF amp is LM386, gain was 200 alias 46dB, the preamp was simulated around 40dB if correct. My amp still not enough level, except use 2 preamp. But fortunately I found 60dB preamp after long search in google.? See techlib.com Thanks INDRA |

Re: Make a nicer appearance to your home made rig, the easy way.
@ Gerard: Good idea to use glossy paper! I imagine that the toner will even stick less on it then on normal paper. I will try it. Indeed there are more ways to get screening on the front but this is one way. At least members of this group that did not know about this method are now aware of it. |
Re: Make a nicer appearance to your home made rig, the easy way.
I didn't make it to the end of your video
When I have assembled my uBITX V3 I laid out the controls on Fusion360? to get everything where I wanted before I cut the holes in the screen. Then 3d printed a template? to verify and to outline the holes On some other devices I wanted to cover up holes so I printed a panel with the controls where I wanted and laminated the used front steel panel with the 3 d printed panel. Drilling holes and notching the used steel cabinet where needed. -- 73 Dave |
