Rafael, I am using cairo api. I just wrote a few routines to display text and draw rectangles. I use those in turn to draw the controls, etc. The code is on

I know you might have answered this before, but what graphics API are you using to fill the framebuffer for the display.
While eagerly waiting for the official sbitx, I am thinking on using a Pi as controller for my IC7300 and using X Windows can be a drag.
