Re: Playing with NanoVna

Gyula,

I have changed the shortcut of the PGM AMCP
it's launch now
So now, i need some time to test

Re: Playing with NanoVna

Good afternoon
?
Gyula, thanks for the link, files downloaded
?
I saw in the AMCP files that there are kicad files to made a PCB to connect the quartz, but i just finished my homebrew schematic for connecting quartz? to a nanovna
In spite of everything, the one I just wrote has to do all the quartz cases.

so for AMCP
I tried running the program to see, but I have a mistake.
For now I haven¡¯t looked for more. There must be a configuration file to see?

WORK IN PROGRESS!

ampc is an automated measurement tool of crystal parameters using a vector network analyser.

It looks like that SD card socket is only there for convenience in an embedded system. The traces are just connected to those labelled holes.

Playing with NanoVna

Hello,

I picked up a NanoVna and I played with it a bit this afternoon.
It¡¯s true that the 2.8-inch screen is a bit small, but I immediately connected it to a computer? with the nano saver app 0.3.10 software? and it¡¯s much more enjoyable to use.
I spent a little time watching youtube videos on the subject and testing for example quartz. It works not that bad.
I still have a question to test the ubitx SSB filter.
Knowing that my assembly allows to use removable filters, I would like to know the best test adaptation for testing with the nanovna
That is to say put a transformer in and out or other, knowing that my removable filter is only composed of 8 quartz and 5 capacitors (see pictures)
thank you

Jamey:

I have been buying displays from BuyDisplay.com for several years now. They have good prices (i.e., a 2.8" TFT display is under $18) and reasonably fast shipping. We are using their 5" display:

Inline image

which is an 800x480 display with great fidelity with SPI interface for about $48. While I think the smallest display I've ordered from them was a 3.5", my guess is their 2.8" would be a good substitute for yours at about half the price. True, you will have to wait a couple of weeks, but depending upon where you are in your project, that might not be an issue.

As one can see from the picture, the SD card socket is not connected to anything.
It's there because the original design it's cloned from had one and it has stayed.
It does allow having images and other stuff on an SD card if using some small microcontroller like most arduinos.
But I, doubt there's any space left in the arduino used in uBITX for the filesystem and other stuff to make any use of it.

Rahul, he's talking about the connector for Audio IO, he's not talking about the interface or Audio card.

Re: TSW Website information

Hey Jerry, I just checked - I had a kit made up so I just pulled the board & replaced it with one that didn't have a VFO chip soldered on it. I can ship it as quick as the PayPal gets here - Wife might get home in time -=- I need your address again please so I am sure to get it to the right place.

I'll ship in the morning first thing if she doesn't get back in time.

Hi Jim,

Do you have the Teensy 4.1 Raduino kit in stock? I'd like to buy another one. If it helps, I don't need the VFO chip.

As you may remember, I bought two of them from you. One is in my UBITX. The other one ( with no VFO chip ) is in my Medium Linear project. The Medium Linear has a pair of MRF300 LDMOS devices, and delivers about 350W PEP on SSB. I am enjoying the extreme speed and i/o richness of the Teensy.

Am starting plans for another linear. A bigger linear. Dreaming of a solid Kilowatt output. But I don't want to take apart the Medium Linear.

Getting reasonably comfortable with KiCAD and ordering boards from JLCPCB - but I'd just
as soon buy one from you :).

Re: TSW Website information

Hi Jerry, Yes, I do have them. I can drop $5 off the total for one without the VFO chip total $35 shipped (normally $35+5 shipping).

PayPal the $35 (friends & family please) to w0eb@... and I can get it out in the morning (wife has the car and usually doesn't get back til after the Post Office closes on Wednesdays.)
