Re: Parasites noises
hello,
Hello, To clarify I have this problem on my 2nd prototype The first one had 12MHZ filters and worked well the first time. Careful, the implantations are different. The 2nd is in filters 11059MHZ Of course, I reloaded another PGM in the Arduino;?I took the version for Ubitx V5 of Kd8CEC. I think the anomaly is at the output of the SSB filter and is more visible with the amplification of Q70. It is very strange and has a modulation of 1.3?s with an internal oscillation of 0.08?s. It is the M1 signal which with the relay passes to M2 for amplification. So this causes a global interaction, which produces these strange crackles and noises. For the moment I don¡¯t know where this modulation at 1.3 ?s comes from. Some id¨¦a? so?I would like to test the SSB filter by this method I only have a generator and oscillo, how to test without desoldering? Give me the connection points in relation to a V6 schema --> It's write to use the transformers for a best measurement. cdt |
Re: Parasites noises
Hi Gerard,
You don't mention whether this is new behavior or whether it had existed since you completed your build.? I've had a similar problem after an upgrade, and it turned out to be a cold solder joist on the ground side of the rotary encoder.? I've seen similar issues to what you are reporting from the ground connections are not good. Good luck, Dean KK4DAS |
Re: HS Code Required
Sunil This is an Indian code.? See for example? You should be able to get Diz to label the correct code on your next shipment. Keep up the good work on your kits!? I guess there may be new additions if Ashhar comes out with an SDR radio.? I am building one based around Charlie ZL2CTM¡¯s direct conversion end Teensy 3 design. 73 Mike ZL1AXG On Fri, 30 Apr 2021 at 1:52 PM, Sunil Lakhani <vu3sua@...> wrote: To import toroids? HS Code Required
To import toroids? HS code required
1. T37-43 2. T37-6
3. T37-2 It would be great help if some one could share HS code for above toroids . Last time we imported toroids from kitsandparts.com he did not mention any HS code.? The customs charged a very high duty as the invoice did not have HS code . I asked Diz at kitsandparts he to was not sure for HS codes . Thanks to group members for always being supportive. Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice
A weak signal at 10 MHz could indicate that alignment is needed.? Misalignment can put the received signal outside the IF filter passband. Zero-beat means matching the frequency of two signals.? There will be a high pitched tone as one approaches zero-beat.? At zero-beat the tone frequency will have decreased as match is acquired, and the tone frequency will increase again as the adjustment is further advanced on the opposite side of zero-beat.? WWV operates in the high frequency (HF) portion of the radio spectrum. The station radiates 10 000 W on 5 MHz, 10 MHz, and 15 MHz; and 2500 W on 2.5 MHz and 20 MHz. Each frequency is broadcast from a separate transmitter? Geophysical alerts are broadcast from WWV
at 18 minutes after the hour and from WWVH at 45 minutes after the
hour. The messages are less than 45 s in length and are updated every 3
hours (typically at 0000, 0300, 0600, 0900, 1200, 1500, 1800, and 2100
UTC). Go to the URL below and scroll down to the broadcast mode schedule circles. These show when WWV/NIST will be broadcasting a pure carrier (i.e. no modulation to cause alignment to frequency plus or minus modulation). For using WWVB or WWVH as a frequency standard you want to wait for the short periods when there is no modulation. Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice
OK I am starting over from scratch.?? Perhaps I should not have done this*** 10000 kHz is one of the frequencies of WWV. This is the time/frequency standard for the United States. Its frequency is *extremely* exact. They transmit beeps, clicks, and announcements with AM modulation. If you zero beat WWV and your display says 10000, you are dead nuts on. In operation, you can check it by listening to its audio on USB and LSB - they should both have exactly the same tone. - Jerry KF6VB

Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice
OK I am starting over from scratch.? Perhaps I should not have done this but I held in the control button when I turned the unit on.? It made me do a screen calibration and now it says
Set Frequency You should have a signal exactly at 10000 kHz Rotate to zerobeat Push Tune to save I have no idea what I am supposed to do.? What does it mean by a frequency at 10000 kHz?? Have I broken it? |
Continued uBitx v6 stock firmware UI re-design. Erratic Fast Tune switching due little mistapping was very annoying. Thus I put fast tune toggling at separate button "FST" - just like it was already done with RIT, SPL, CW and SSB (last one - in my version fork only). UI is now much more consistent.
And to enter frequency, just tap on active VFO - it don't switch now Fast Tune mode, but much more logically enters into Freq entering mode.
(I'm so brave in this task because was finished in previous year UX/UI course with "A"

Parasites noises
Hello,
On my homebrew , I have parasitic noises. These noises are like crackling, whistling. I put the antenna entrance to the ground, it¡¯s the same. It seems to come from the first converter stage. What I¡¯ve already done: I added additional decoupling capacitors (47?) on the RX power supply before and after resistance R18.( By default there is already a 0.1?f) It reduces noise but not enough. The value may not be good.?On what parameters set its value? Also if I touch the 12vRX connection as close as R18 or the collector of Q12 with a small screwdriver, but my hand connected on the tip, this greatly reduces the noise. I thought the cracking was coming from a toroid.?For example, I replaced one of the wires with fake contacts, but that¡¯s not the case.?In fact, depending on who you touch, you cause suspicious noises. For cracking, I think this is more due to a result of frequency mixing on first converter .T cdt his stage being very sensitive, you see, even with the antenna to the ground, of the HF modulation capture. My conclusion, is that the pb is more on Q12, but a failing transistor can it do this type of phenomenon? |
Re: BITX40 and Data FT8/JT65 et al.
Yes it is the volume pot. The H is the high side (input) to the pot. On 18:47, Wed 28 Apr 2021 Colorado HAM <coloradoham@... wrote: Thanks Zvika, what is PotH ?? Is that a potentiometer labeled "H" ?? Volume control pot ?? I could not find that on the version 40 schematic. I have version 6. |
