Ah yes, the 78xx series of linear voltage regulators.? If you consider the input/output voltage differential, there's quite a bit of power to sink (heat). Some have "staged" with additional voltage regulators in series in order to distribute the heat dissipation. eg. a 7809 or 7809 feeding the 7805.? Just be mindful of the minimum dropout voltage.

He is using a different Nextion screen program.? The Nano program is still 1.2.? You will need to find out from F5NVP the .tft file that he used to program the Nextion display.

I just need a confirmation when i look his Ubitx
Is the version 1.2CEC different in display when we choose the version Ubitx5 compared to the previous ones (3,4)?
I found a different display that mine when zoom-in. Extra buttons, an inversion ATT IFS, a small scanner... Yet it is noted V1.2

Just a hint re the Raduino.
When I tried to flash mine I kept getting 500 Sync errors. Tried other Arduino boards and MOST gave the same error message. Same when using other cables and another Computer. I eventually found in TOOLS I needed to select the "Old Bootloader". I didn't see the actual error you were experiencing so this is just a guess. (I'm? a newbie).
Mines a V6.2 board OS is Win10 on both Computers. As someone who spent their whole career fault finding in I.T. I would hesitate to flash another image unless you have completed a lot of testing first.

Your reported symptoms seem likely to be USB related, not anything Raduino per se.
I've had issues with the USB connector on the Nano clone in my V3.??

How did you have the Raduino's Nano USB attached to the host computer when you reported successful sketch uploads?
Directly to the computer or through the digi board?? If directly to the Nano, did you try this connection path for the CAT control?

If you can successfully upload sketches when attached directly to the computer, try using the same USB cable between the Nano and the digi board.

I've seen issues with the AVR compiler before. I've also used newer versions of the arduino IDE with VSCode. I don't think I've seen that lint warning, though.

I suspect the tool is confusing itself somehow, especially if a recompile fixes it. While a little annoying, unless you want to figure out and help fix the compiler bug, I'd say just recompile and move on :P

I put my V6 together a week or so ago and remember the 7805 on the "display unit" had a small heat radiator on it and assumed it was there because of previous comments about the heat built up on the device. Is this the regulator to which you refer? After putting the radio together, I have not removed the cover, assuming all is OK. I seriously hate to go into a working radio, preferring to operate a radio even with my fingers crossed.

So far, the radio has worked marvelously. I hate to think it is operating marginally and is teetering at the edge of the proverbial cliff. I know that some Yaesu 2M radios build up significant heat if operated constantly for several minutes and while this heat surely does not do the radio any good, l have never heard of it being a factor in the radio's failure... Plus, I have not seen any review where the radio has actually failed from said heat...!

I now must keep this in mind just in case the V6 does go sour. If it does, the first thing I will check is to see if the regulator went belly-up and thank goodness it is in a position to be checked easily.

Thanks for your feedback.? It may have been that RF got in there in the first place and scrambled something in the raduino? Maybe an Eprom? I had an antenna issue for a bit my doublet was touching a tree after a storm. It was tuned by my autotuner but it had to be very unbalanced. But now you can't even get it to configure wsjtx to talk to the radio.? It reports an error around reading vfo freq before you can ever transmit.??

It does work with old raduino and green 2 line display.? The pcb will.be plugged leaving 2 pinsextra prodided for glcd. This what i read at the first version of v6

Before you give it a go, take a look at both the power supply and/or possibly getting RF into the raduino. It works in SSB, right? Lighter duty.

Hi Bill,

I have had a V3 for a few years and have enjoyed modding it.? Balancing output power, installing a pop fix, and other things.? I've had a new V6.2 on the air just under a month and it's a much better radio out of the box than my nodded V3.

The pop fix is incorporated into the board. TX/RX transitions are silent on a speaker. I haven't used phones yet.?

I have a couple of the original AGC boards.? I've recently received one of the kits projects versions with an S meter output but haven't installed it yet.


Check with W0EB at the Triumvirate Skonk Worx. They have a Teensy 4.0 hardware upgrade and their own code for the Raduino. One of the upgrades is a a new paddle interface that comes directly off the Teensy that's supposed to be very crisp. I'm using their upgraded Raduino but haven't used paddles yet.?

Very weird that GCC reports a segmentation fault, but only sometimes.
My best guess would be memory errors in the host computer.
Any chance you could try this on a different computer?

For somebody keen to hack hardware, a suitable host might be a Raspberry Pi 4.
Quite cheap if you already have a keyboard, mouse, and your TV has an HDMI port.

Or perhaps a borrowed laptop.

I hope this question is appropriate here, since this is a problem when compiling my uBITx code.

I'm using VSCode to do my Arduino coding. It took some setting up, but it is working well most of the time. Every once in a while, when I make a change to the code and compile it, GCC is reporting a segmentation fault. If I exit and restart VSCode, the next compile goes fine.

I don't know whether this is related or not, but every time I open an Arduino project workspace, VSCode displays an error popup:
Conflicted extensions with IntelliSense service were detected (Arduino). Code-completion, linting and navigation will not work properly. Please disable or uninstall them (Menu > View > Extensions).

I ignore this and (other than the occasional segmentation?fault), everything still seems to work.

Versions:
VSCode: 1.48.2
PlatformIO Extension: 2.10
Arduino Extension: 0.3.2

Arduino: 1.8.9

I know there are newer versions of Arduino available, but there the serial monitor in VSCode doesn't work with them.
