Oh Well, maybe need to try later.? 40 meters seems better at night.

Re: uBITX V6 weird modulation

So i was fiddling with the calibration, and using the sdr to see my changes, when I noticed how I held my mic cord changed what was on the screen, sometimes nothing, sometimes strong, sometimes strong without saying anything, sometimes even the tx would kick on and off...
So I'm thinking my issue is the mic cord itself.

If I don't hear anyone, I will try simple digital PSK31 on 7070 + 1500.

Re: BITX40 Pop Fix

OK, glad to hear you got it working Ted!

Now you can start adding some of the minor mods in order to enjoy the full capabilities of the software.
The most important one that I'd recommend you to start with is adding the function button.
See for details.

Happy BitX-ing!

Eureka!!!!

?

I had never tried the ¡°Old Bootloader¡± version of the ATMega328 and now with all the other things are setup properly it up loaded with no errors.

Guess that means that the software has been updated to the latest rev. I understand that it has functionality that I won¡¯t be able to use on this oddball version of the BITX40. Hopefully though this will improve the pop noise when switching from TX to Rx and Vicky verky as well as maybe other things.

As this is an abandoned kit from another Ham and a very basic TRX, as well signal band single mode, I don¡¯t want to put too much into it.

May do some of the component mods for other fixes.

I¡¯ll put the thing back together now and see what happens.

Thanks for all of your time and help.

I¡¯ll post the results.

73 and stay safe guys.

P.S. Hope I am not to optimistic. Hi.

Re: Nano

Ted,
I did get the picture that time.? From it I would surmise 2 things:
1 - That you do have an HF Signals Raduino with a Nano Clone.
2 - That the Nano is soldered in on the opposite side of the Raduino board from the uBITX versions (the Nano is between the Raduino board and the Display).

Attached are pictures of the Raduino shipped with the uBITX rigs:

Note: I did add the heatsink on the Raduino Regulator and replaced the Nano with a clone bought through Amazon.? That way I could keep the Nano in the factory original state.

If you ever decide to replace the Nano, I would move it to the other side of the board, unless you are mounting the display with a cable, then it would not matter.? The Nano replacement will be difficult with the two headers to desolder and all the pins to remove.

The settings for the Arduino IDE that we have sent you before should work.? If not, you could try changing the processor to the standard ATMega328P without the Old Bootloader.? Other than that, replacing the Nano is the best option at this time.
