Here is mine...I have a handful of files on the sdcard, but the nextion will only read the top one cause it's .tft I changed the others to xtft or oldtft. The nextion should skip over it. |

Re: K5AID smoke test successful

A new rig can sound different. I doubt you did anything to calibration by accident. Learn how the menus work on your own for all but calibration. Do listen to different bands. Enjoy the rig a bit before concluding anything is amiss. Since you and I didn't solder all these parts, I doubt there are any solder issues. Curt |
Re: LDG Z-817 autotuner
I use my 817 with the uBitx. I press and hold the tune button until it goes into the tune mode and then I just say ¡°oooooooooooooo¡± into the microphone and watch it tune up. If you¡¯ve never tuned that particular antenna you may say ¡°oooooooooooo¡± until you almost run out of breath but it will tune. Once you tune around on a few bands, the memory tune is pretty quick. Never tried tuning with CW but I suspect it would work just the same.?

Well, I connected my windom antenna heard some 40 meter cw, but I also heard some things like birdies and so my first thought would be to check for cold solders, shorten up wire runs, and twist cables to minimize noise pickup. I stumbled into the menu, and I hope I didn't mess something up...got a message of "calibration? set!" But I have no idea how I got there, or w hf at I did.? Stock firmware as shipped on raduino...no mods yet.

Re: Bitx 40
Which four diodes, and how are you measuring them?? If you are referring to D10-13, and measuring in circuit with a VOM or DVM, then they will all read ground, no matter how you measure with the DVM.? They are part of the double balanced mixer, so there is always a circuit to ground through one of the other transformers with the grounded center taps.
I do not have a BITX 40, only a uBitx v4 and v5.? These are multi-band versions of the BITX40 design principle, so I might be able to help with theory, however actual measurements will require the help of someone else. I would suggest that you start with describing the current problem, and some of the background.? The more detail the easier it will be for others to provide accurate advice. Just suggestions, not recommendations 73 Evan AC9TU |
Building my Ubitx today...yay...but need help.
Kelly Mabry
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all, building today, but I have some questions. Specifically I'm building per Sunil's case for 3.5 Nextion display. Tested my board, which is a V5.? The current draw on power up test was .11 A, so excited for a good first step.? Sunil's? case has a front rocker switch, which is I think...is up = powered via power jack in the back...mid = off, and lower switch is for charging...I believe..(I don't yet have the internal battery I wish to use).? Does anyone have a schematic which shows the connections? Currently the encoder is wired, speakers done to front harness? board.? Audio & digital relimate connections done,? I need power, antenna, mic and volume wired the it's time for last inspections Kelly K5AID? Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone |

OK so if I load the .tft file into the nextion that will make the screen work with the ubitx or is there another file needed to be loaded into the ubitx?

The files that end with .tft only go into the screen module itself, by means of a MicroSD card holding ONLY that one file on it at the time. If you're not happy with the 3.5" screen you find, report back and look in the forum Files section for a re-work of a 3.2" screen expanded to completely fill a 3.5" field. Best of luck, TedK3RTA |
