A new rig can sound different. I doubt you did anything to calibration by accident. Learn how the menus work on your own for all but calibration. Do listen to different bands. Enjoy the rig a bit before concluding anything is amiss. Since you and I didn't solder all these parts, I doubt there are any solder issues.
