Re: USB/LSB

Instructions for the CEC firmware with Nextion is here:

The original question was how to switch between USB and LSB.? The Nextion display is touch screen (you did get the touch screen version?).? Just press on the USB/LSB and then select the setting you want.

Right... in the audio, there's a humming and a clicking.? They're two sounds.??

I do indeed have a Nextion screen with CEC Chris.? Unplugging the screen does indeed remove the humming noise.

Let's see if a battery eliminates the clicking.

Re: USB/LSB

I think we are making this to hard. Just press on the main tuning knob, scroll thru settings with the knob. When you see LSB, press knob it should switch to USB.

Its okay to enjoy this rig with or without a different display or firmware.

Re: USB/LSB

Patrick,

is your question about the BitX40 or about the ubitx?
Which radio do you have?

Re: USB/LSB

Fine, if you are already using Lee's firmware with nextion.
?All the best.

Not sure if the article mentioned it, but the nextion screen is a real step saver. Touch and you are there.

Re: Audio Buzzing

Hi Rich,
sounds like Nextion display with down regulated brightness. Do you use CEC-software with Nextion display?

Hi All

Sharing some piuctures of the ubitx cabinet made by me.

This is a common cabinet for both 2 line LCD aswell as the 2.8 TFT display

You need to change only the bezel

As usual will supply complete cabinet, fixtures , mic , mic/ptt sockets pcb, speaker, fuse holder, fuse,

heat sink insulation kit, heat sink compound, tags, screws, usb cable panel mount, knobs, folding feet, glue,?

Also USB to rear panel connector cable to fit on to Radiuno

etc. etc as earlier, except this cabinet will have common front panel for 2.8 inch TFT & 2 line LCD

The bezels will change

So a person building a ubitx stock can start with stock LCD supplied getting it going , then adapt the TFT display

?

Thanks happy homebrewing

Re: Changing out L5 & L7 in UBitX for Spur Fix

The problem is L5 is picking up harmonics from the output filters, recirculating them through BiDi
and making things worse. L7 changed to keep symmetry on both sides of the 45MHz filter.

Evan,

The caps are only DC blocking and do not have an effect on the filter. I mounted the coils where

You can also mount them exactly in the place of the old coils but you will need a lead extension
at one end for the SMD coil.

This prevents the harmonics from getting back into the BiDi amp and causing spurs. Its behaviour is
identical to Farhans. Both clean up the higher bands. For lower bands change THREE relays to AXICOM.

Hi,

I can't find a source for any DC that needs to be blocked at this point?

As to replacing the toroids with shielded SMD inductors, it seems that this is only needed due to the nearness of L7 to T4?? On my board, as delivered, the two are actually touching.? Wouldn't spacing them better acheive the same results?

Re: ubitx v4 spurs fix confusion #ubitx-help #ubitx

You can do without 211 and 215. I looked for a convenient spot and put it there.
Those two caps are for DC block and there is no dc there.

Re: ubitx v4 spurs fix confusion #ubitx-help #ubitx

It looks to me as if you've?bypassed C211 with that configuration.? The inductor contacts the trace leading to the outboard side of that cap rather that the inboard side of the cap as per the original inductor.?

The swap on the left doesn't do that.?

Is that intentional, part of the upgrade?

I'm at a bit of a loss in all honesty.??

Audio is buzzing like a nutter.? I've tried three different power supplies, but this is ALL I get through the speaker, headphones, clansman's handset... doesn't matter what I try, nothing changes it.

Ideas?

Re: ubitx 40 for sale...

If this isn't sold I am in the market for a ubitx or a bitx 40. I have wanted one for years and finally landed a job. I get paid weekly so every Friday, so I would like to buy one asap.

Glad to see that was taken as wanting a freebie instead of an honest offer. I guess the internet lets some of us lose our tact. I love a good project and was looking forward to putting the time into fix it. I have been working on a variety of projects for my webshop and thought it might have been a good investment in its current shape. Knowing it will need some work I see no reason why one should bay the same amount farhan charges for a New unit.
